"For My thoughtsare not your thoughts,Norare your waysMy ways,"declaresthe LORD.
"And yetthiswas insignificantin Your eyes,O LordGOD,for You have spokenalsoof the houseof Your servantconcerning the distantfuture.And thisis the customof man,O LordGOD.
But Naamanwas furiousand wentaway and said,"Behold,I thought,'He will surelycomeout to me and standand callon the nameof the LORDhis God,and wavehis handoverthe placeand curethe leper.'
"Lookat the heavensand see;And beholdthe clouds--they are higherthanyou.
Allthe pathsof the LORDare lovingkindnessand truthTo those who keepHis covenantand His testimonies.
The counselof the LORDstandsforever,The plansof His heartfrom generationto generation.
Many,O LORDmy God,are the wonderswhich You have done,And Your thoughtstowardus; Thereis noneto comparewith You. If I would declareand speakof them, They would be toonumerousto count.
Howgreatare Your works,O LORD!Your thoughtsare verydeep.
The wayof a guiltymanis crooked,But as for the pure,his conductis upright.
[As] the heavensfor heightand the earthfor depth,So the heartof kingsis unsearchable.
The LORDof hostshas swornsaying,"Surely,justas I have intendedsoit has happened,and justas I have plannedso it will stand,
Allof us like sheephave goneastray,Eachof us has turnedto his own way;But the LORDhas caused the iniquityof us allTo fallon Him.
"Ifbecauseof the sabbath,you turnyour footFrom doingyour [own] pleasureon My holyday,And callthe sabbatha delight,the holy[day] of the LORDhonorable,And honorit, desistingfrom your [own] ways,From seekingyour [own] pleasureAnd speaking[your own] word,
"I have spreadout My handsalldaylong to a rebelliouspeople,Who walk[in] the waywhich is not good,followingtheir own thoughts,
"For I know their worksand their thoughts;the time is comingto gatherallnationsand tongues.And they shall comeand seeMy glory.
[God] says,"Ifa husbanddivorceshis wifeAnd she goesfrom him And belongsto anotherman,Will he stillreturnto her? Will not that landbe completelypolluted?But you are a harlot[with] manylovers;Yet you turnto Me," declaresthe LORD.
"But the houseof Israelsays,'The wayof the Lordis not right.'Are My waysnot right,O houseof Israel?Is it not your waysthat are not right?
"NowI, Nebuchadnezzar,praise,exaltand honorthe Kingof heaven,for allHis worksare true and His waysjust,and He is ableto humblethose whowalkin pride."
Whoeveris wise,let him understandthesethings;[Whoever] is discerning,let him knowthem. For the waysof the LORDare right,And the righteouswill walkin them, But transgressorswill stumblein them.
But the LORDsaidto Samuel,"Do not lookat his appearanceor at the heightof his stature,becauseI have rejectedhim; for God[sees] not as mansees,for manlooksat the outwardappearance,but the LORDlooksat the heart."
