"Lookto Abrahamyour fatherAnd to Sarahwho gavebirthto you in pain;When[he] [was but] oneI calledhim, Then I blessedhim and multipliedhim."
indeedI will greatlyblessyou, and I will greatlymultiplyyour seedas the starsof the heavensand as the sandwhichis on the seashore;and your seedshall possessthe gateof their enemies.
Now Abrahamwas old,advancedin age;and the LORDhad blessedAbrahamin everyway.
"The LORDhas greatlyblessedmy master,so that he has becomerich;and He has givenhim flocksand herds,and silverand gold,and servantsand maids,and camelsand donkeys.
Thereforethussaysthe LORD,whoredeemedAbraham,concerningthe houseof Jacob:"Jacobshall not nowbe ashamed,norshall his facenowturnpale;
"But you, Israel,My servant,JacobwhomI have chosen,Descendantof AbrahamMy friend,
"Your firstforefathersinned,And your spokesmenhave transgressedagainst Me.
"Hearthis,O houseof Jacob,who are namedIsraelAnd who cameforthfrom the loinsof Judah,Who swearby the nameof the LORDAnd invokethe Godof Israel,[But] not in truthnorin righteousness.
"The smallestonewill becomea clan,And the leastonea mightynation.I, the LORD,will hastenit in its time."
For You are our Father,thoughAbrahamdoes not knowus And Israeldoes not recognizeus. You, O LORD,are our Father,Our Redeemerfrom of oldis Your name.
"Sonof man,they who livein thesewasteplacesin the landof Israelare saying,Abrahamwas [only] one,yet he possessedthe land;so to us whoare manythe landhas been givenas a possession.'
The LORDyour Godhas multipliedyou, and behold,you are this daylike the starsof heavenin number.
"You shall answerand saybeforethe LORDyour God,My fatherwas a wanderingAramean,and he wentdownto Egyptand sojournedthere,fewin number;but therehe becamea great,mightyand populousnation.
Then I tookyour fatherAbrahamfrom beyondthe River,and ledhim through allthe landof Canaan,and multipliedhis descendantsand gavehim Isaac.
