So the kingconsulted,and madetwogoldencalves,and he saidto them, "It is toomuchfor you to goup to Jerusalem;beholdyour gods,O Israel,that broughtyou up from the landof Egypt."
They have hands,but they cannotfeel;They have feet,but they cannotwalk;They cannotmakea soundwith their throat.
"They have quicklyturnedasidefrom the waywhichI commandedthem. They have madefor themselves a moltencalf,and have worshipedit and have sacrificedto it and said,Thisis your god,O Israel,whobroughtyou up from the landof Egypt!'"
Their landhas also been filledwith idols;They worshipthe workof their hands,That whichtheir fingershave made.

Beatensilveris broughtfrom Tarshish,And goldfrom Uphaz,The workof a craftsmanand of the handsof a goldsmith;Violetand purpleare their clothing;They are allthe workof skilledmen.
"A droughton her waters,and they will be driedup! For it is a landof idols,And they are madover fearsomeidols.
Nebuchadnezzarthe kingmadean imageof gold,the heightof which [was] sixtycubits[and] its widthsixcubits;he setit up on the plainof Durain the provinceof Babylon.
And nowthey sinmoreand more,And makefor themselves moltenimages,Idolsskillfullymade from their silver,Allof them the workof craftsmen.They sayof them, "Let the menwho sacrificekissthe calves!"
