to breakAssyriain My land,and I will tramplehim on My mountains.Then his yokewill be removedfrom them and his burdenremovedfrom their shoulder.
And the LORDsentan angelwho destroyedeverymightywarrior,commanderand officerin the campof the kingof Assyria.So he returnedin shameto his own land.And when he had enteredthe templeof his god,someof his ownchildrenkilledhim therewith the sword.
So it will be that whenthe Lordhas completedallHis workon MountZionand on Jerusalem,[He will say], "I will punishthe fruitof the arrogantheartof the kingof Assyriaand the pompof his haughtiness."
"The LORDhas brokenthe staffof the wicked,The scepterof rulers
Woeto you, O destroyer,While you were not destroyed;And he who is treacherous,while [others] did not dealtreacherouslywith him. As soon as you finishdestroying,you will be destroyed;As soon as you ceaseto dealtreacherously,[others] will dealtreacherouslywith you.
Shakeyourself from the dust,riseup, O captiveJerusalem;Looseyourself from the chainsaround your neck,O captivedaughterof Zion.
For You shall breakthe yokeof their burdenand the staffon their shoulders,The rodof their oppressor,as at the battleof Midian.
"Assyriais thereand allher company;her gravesare roundabouther. Allof them are slain,fallenby the sword,
"You will fallon the mountainsof Israel,you and allyour troopsand the peopleswhoare with you; I will giveyou as foodto everykindof predatorybirdand beastof the field.
ThisOnewill be [our] peace.Whenthe Assyrianinvadesour land,Whenhe trampleson our citadels,Then we will raiseagainsthim Sevenshepherdsand eightleadersof men.
They will shepherdthe landof Assyriawith the sword,The landof Nimrodat its entrances;And He will deliver[us] from the AssyrianWhenhe attacksour landAnd whenhe tramplesour territory.
"So now,I will breakhis yokebarfrom upon you, And I will tearoffyour shackles."
"And they will passthrough the sea[of] distressAnd He will strikethe wavesin the sea,So that allthe depthsof the Nilewill dryup; And the prideof Assyriawill be broughtdownAnd the scepterof Egyptwill depart.
