I will campagainstyou encircling[you], And I will setsiegeworksagainstyou, And I will raiseup battletowersagainstyou.
Onethousand[will flee] at the threatof one[man]; You will fleeat the threatof five,Untilyou are leftas a flagon a mountaintopAnd as a signalon a hill.
thisis the wordthat the LORDhas spokenagainsthim: "She has despisedyou and mockedyou, The virgindaughterof Zion;She has shaken[her] headbehindyou, The daughterof Jerusalem!
Perhapsthe LORDyour Godwill hearthe wordsof Rabshakeh,whomhis masterthe kingof Assyriahas sentto reproachthe livingGod,and will rebukethe wordswhichthe LORDyour Godhas heard.Therefore, offera prayerfor the remnantthat is left.'"
Whenthe Lordhas washedawaythe filthof the daughtersof Zionand purgedthe bloodshedof Jerusalemfrom her midst,by the spiritof judgmentand the spiritof burning,
"Then you will sayin your heart,'Whohas begottenthesefor me, Since I have beenbereavedof my childrenAnd am barren,an exileand a wanderer?And whohas rearedthese?Behold,I was leftalone;From wheredid thesecome?'"
Behold,the LORDhas proclaimedto the endof the earth,Sayto the daughterof Zion,"Lo,your salvationcomes;BeholdHis rewardis with Him, and His recompensebeforeHim."
"Then it will sweepon into Judah,it will overflowand passthrough,It will reachevento the neck;And the spreadof its wingswill fillthe breadthof your land,O Immanuel.
Like watchmenof a fieldthey are againsther roundabout,Becauseshe has rebelledagainst Me,' declaresthe LORD.

Howthe Lordhas coveredthe daughterof ZionWith a cloudin His anger!He has castfrom heavento earthThe gloryof Israel,And has not rememberedHis footstoolIn the dayof His anger.
And He has violentlytreatedHis tabernaclelike a garden[booth]; He has destroyedHis appointedmeetingplace.The LORDhas caused to be forgottenThe appointedfeastand sabbathin Zion,And He has despisedkingand priestIn the indignationof His anger.
"Singfor joyand be glad,O daughterof Zion;for beholdI am comingand I will dwellin your midst,"declaresthe LORD.
Rejoicegreatly,O daughterof Zion!Shout[in triumph], O daughterof Jerusalem!Behold,your kingis comingto you; He is justand endowedwith salvation,Humble,and mountedon a donkey,Even on a colt,the foalof a donkey.
