Although I trained[and] strengthenedtheir arms,Yet they deviseevilagainstMe.
Whateveryou deviseagainstthe LORD,He will makea completeendof it. Distresswill not riseup twice.
Those whomI love,I reproveand discipline;thereforebe zealousand repent.
and you have forgottenthe exhortationwhichis addressedto you as sons,"MY SON,DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLYTHE DISCIPLINEOF THE LORD,NORFAINTWHEN YOU ARE REPROVEDBY HIM;
[We are] destroyingspeculationsand everylofty thingraisedup againstthe knowledgeof God,and [we are] takingeverythoughtcaptiveto the obedienceof Christ,
For even though they knewGod,they did not honorHim as Godorgive thanks,but they became futilein their speculations,and their foolishheartwas darkened.
who by the HolySpirit,[through] the mouthof our fatherDavidYour servant,said,WHYDID THE GENTILESRAGE,AND THE PEOPLESDEVISEFUTILE THINGS?
"The heartis moredeceitfulthanallelse And is desperatelysick;Whocan understandit?
My son,do not rejectthe disciplineof the LORDOr loatheHis reproof,
Blessedis the manwhomYou chasten,O LORD,And whom You teachout of Your law;
Howlongwill you assaila man,That you may murder[him], allof you, Like a leaningwall,like a totteringfence?
Whyare the nationsin an uproarAnd the peoplesdevisinga vainthing?
"Behold,how happyis the manwhom Godreproves,So do not despisethe disciplineof the Almighty.
But the LORDwas graciousto them and hadcompassionon them and turnedto them becauseof His covenantwith Abraham,Isaac,and Jacob,and wouldnot destroythem or castthem from His presenceuntilnow.
The LORDgaveIsraela deliverer,so that they escapedfrom underthe handof the Arameans;and the sonsof Israellivedin their tentsas formerly.
Whodeviseevilthingsin [their] hearts;They continuallystirup wars.
[It is] your destruction,O Israel,That [you are] against Me, against your help.
