It is for disciplinethat you endure;Goddealswith you as with sons;for whatsonis there whom[his] fatherdoes not discipline?

He who withholdshis rodhateshis son,But he who loveshim disciplineshim diligently.
Disciplineyour sonwhilethereis hope,And do not desirehis death.
Foolishnessis boundup in the heartof a child;The rodof disciplinewill removeit farfrom him.
The rodand reproofgivewisdom,But a childwho getshis own waybringsshameto his mother.
Correctyour son,and he will giveyou comfort;He will also delightyour soul.
strengtheningthe soulsof the disciples,encouragingthem to continuein the faith,and [saying], "Throughmanytribulationswe mustenterthe kingdomof God."
But when we are judged,we are disciplinedby the Lordsothat we will not be condemnedalongwith the world.
"Thus you are to knowin your heartthat the LORDyour Godwas discipliningyou justas a mandisciplineshis son.
Whydo you kickat My sacrificeand at My offeringwhichI have commanded[in My] dwelling,and honoryour sonsaboveMe, by makingyourselves fatwith the choicestof everyofferingof My peopleIsrael?'
Thiswill be the signto you whichwill comeconcerningyour twosons,Hophniand Phinehas:on the samedaybothof them will die.
