Again,she gavebirthto his brotherAbel.And Abelwas a keeperof flocks,but Cainwas a tillerof the ground.
Now he calledhis nameNoah,saying,"Thisonewill giveus restfrom our workand from the toilof our hands[arising] from the groundwhichthe LORDhas cursed."
Thesethree[were] the sonsof Noah,and from thesethe wholeearthwas populated.
He drankof the wineand becamedrunk,and uncoveredhimself insidehis tent.
The mouthof the righteousis a fountainof life,But the mouthof the wickedconcealsviolence.
He who tillshis landwill haveplentyof bread,But he who pursuesworthless[things] lackssense.
I passedby the fieldof the sluggardAnd by the vineyardof the manlackingsense,
After all,a kingwho cultivatesthe fieldis an advantageto the land.
"Do not stareat me because I am swarthy,For the sunhas burnedme. My mother'ssonswere angrywith me; They mademe caretakerof the vineyards,[But] I have not takencareof my own vineyard.
Whoat any timeserves as a soldierat his ownexpense?Whoplantsa vineyardand does not eatthe fruitof it? Orwhotendsa flockand does not usethe milkof the flock?
Whois the manthat has planteda vineyardand has not begunto useits fruit?Let him departand returnto his house,otherwisehe might diein the battleand anothermanwould beginto useits fruit.
"You shall betrotha wife,but anothermanwill violateher; you shall builda house,but you will not livein it; you shall planta vineyard,but you will not useits fruit.
