So Jacobsaidto Pharaoh,"The yearsof my sojourningare one hundredand thirty;fewand unpleasanthave beenthe yearsof my life,norhave they attainedthe yearsthat my fatherslivedduring the daysof their sojourning."
and Shemlivedfivehundredyearsafterhe becamethe fatherof Arpachshad,and he had[other] sonsand daughters.
Now the daysof Isaacwere one hundredand eightyyears.
Jacoblivedin the landof Egyptseventeenyears;so the lengthof Jacob'slifewas one hundredand forty-sevenyears.
Pharaohsaidto Jacob,"Howmanyyearshave you lived?"
So allthe daysof Methuselahwere ninehundredand sixty-nineyears,and he died.
So Josephdiedat the ageof one hundredand tenyears;and he was embalmedand placedin a coffinin Egypt.
"For we are sojournersbeforeYou, and tenants,as allour fatherswere; our dayson the earthare like a shadow,and thereis nohope.
"Man,who is bornof woman,Is short-livedand fullof turmoil.
I am a strangerin the earth;Do not hideYour commandmentsfrom me.
Your statutesare my songsIn the houseof my pilgrimage.
"Hearmy prayer,O LORD,and giveearto my cry;Do not be silentat my tears;For I am a strangerwith You, A sojournerlike allmy fathers.
"TurnYour gazeawayfrom me, that I may smile[again] BeforeI departand am nomore."
"Behold,You have mademy days[as] handbreadths,And my lifetimeas nothingin Your sight;Surelyeverymanat his bestis a merebreath.Selah.
"I alsoestablishedMy covenantwith them, to givethem the landof Canaan,the landin whichthey sojourned.
Moseswas eightyyearsoldand Aaroneighty-three,when they spoketo Pharaoh.
Therefore,being alwaysof good courage,and knowingthat while we are at homein the bodywe are absentfrom the Lord--
Although Moseswas one hundredand twentyyearsoldwhen he died,his eyewas not dim,norhis vigorabated.
For herewe do not havea lastingcity,but we are seeking[the city] which is to come.
Yetyou do not knowwhatyour lifewill be like tomorrow.You are [just] a vaporthat appearsfor a little whileand thenvanishes away.
It cameabout afterthesethingsthat Joshuathe sonof Nun,the servantof the LORD,died,being one hundredand tenyearsold.
Beloved,I urgeyou as aliensand strangersto abstainfrom fleshlylustswhichwage waragainstthe soul.
