"The landof Egyptis at your disposal;settleyour fatherand your brothersin the bestof the land,let them livein the landof Goshen;and ifyou knowanycapablemenamong them, then putthem in chargeof my livestock."
Lotliftedup his eyesand sawallthe valleyof the Jordan,that it was wellwateredeverywhere--[this was] beforethe LORDdestroyedSodomand Gomorrah--like the gardenof the LORD,like the landof Egyptas you goto Zoar.
"Is not the wholelandbeforeyou? Pleaseseparatefrom me; if[to] the left,then I will goto the right;or if[to] the right,then I will goto the left."
Abimelechsaid,"Behold,my landis beforeyou; settlewherever you please."
"Thus you shall livewith us, and the landshall be [open] beforeyou; liveand tradein it and acquirepropertyin it."
"You shall livein the landof Goshen,and you shall be nearme, you and your childrenand your children'schildrenand your flocksand your herdsand allthat you have.
you shall say,'Your servantshave beenkeepersof livestockfrom our youtheven untilnow,bothwe and our fathers,'that you may livein the landof Goshen;for everyshepherdis loathsometo the Egyptians."
So Josephsettledhis fatherand his brothersand gavethem a possessionin the landof Egypt,in the bestof the land,in the landof Rameses,as Pharaohhad ordered.
Then Josephsaid,"Giveup your livestock,and I will giveyou [food] for your livestock,since[your] moneyis gone."
They saidto Pharaoh,"We have cometo sojournin the land,for thereis nopasturefor your servants'flocks,for the famineis severein the landof Canaan.Now,therefore, pleaselet your servantslivein the landof Goshen."
Then Pharaohsaidto Joseph,"Your fatherand your brothershave cometo you.
Now the manJeroboamwas a valiantwarrior,and when Solomonsawthat the youngmanwas industrious,he appointedhim over allthe forcedlaborof the houseof Joseph.
He builttowersin the wildernessand hewedmanycisterns,for he hadmuchlivestock,both in the lowlandand in the plain.[He also had] plowmenand vinedressersin the hillcountryand the fertilefields,for he lovedthe soil.
"Furthermore, you shall selectout of allthe peopleablemenwho fearGod,menof truth,those who hatedishonestgain;and you shall place[these] overthem [as] leadersof thousands,of hundreds,of fiftiesand of tens.
Moseschoseablemenout of allIsraeland madethem headsoverthe people,leadersof thousands,of hundreds,of fiftiesand of tens.
So they tooksootfrom a kiln,and stoodbeforePharaoh;and Mosesthrewit toward the sky,and it becameboilsbreakingout with soreson manand beast.
but he whopaidnoregardto the wordof the LORDlefthis servantsand his livestockin the field.
The king'sheartis [like] channelsof waterin the handof the LORD;He turnsit whereverHe wishes.
Do you seea manskilledin his work?He will standbeforekings;He will not standbeforeobscuremen.
"But now,behold,I am freeingyou todayfrom the chainswhichare on your hands.Ifyou would preferto comewith me to Babylon,come[along], and I will lookafteryou; but ifyou would prefernot to comewith me to Babylon,nevermind.Look,the wholelandis beforeyou; gowhereverit seems goodand rightfor you to go."
evenas You gaveHim authorityover allflesh,that to allwhomYou have givenHim, He may giveeternallife.
Now oneof the servantsof Saulwas therethat day,detainedbeforethe LORD;and his namewas Doegthe Edomite,the chiefof Saul'sshepherds.
