Now Jacobsawthat therewas grainin Egypt,and Jacobsaidto his sons,"Whyare you staringat one another?"
and the sevenyearsof faminebeganto come,justas Josephhad said,then there was faminein allthe lands,but in allthe landof Egyptthere was bread.
[The people of] allthe earthcameto Egyptto buygrainfrom Joseph,becausethe faminewas severein allthe earth.
He said,"Behold,I have heardthat thereis grainin Egypt;godownthereand buy[some] for us from that place,so that we may liveand not die."
And he was afraidand aroseand ranfor his lifeand cameto Beersheba,whichbelongs to Judah,and lefthis servantthere.
"Arise!For [this] matteris your responsibility,but we will be with you; be courageousand act."
Allthe peopleperceivedthe thunderand the lightningflashesand the soundof the trumpetand the mountainsmoking;and when the peoplesaw[it], they trembledand stoodat a distance.
The foremenof the sonsof Israelsawthat they were in troublebecause they were told,"You must not reduce[your] dailyamountof bricks."
Whyare we sittingstill?Assembleyourselves, and let us gointo the fortifiedcitiesAnd let us perishthere,Becausethe LORDour Godhas doomedus And givenus poisonedwaterto drink,For we have sinnedagainst the LORD.
When Ephraimsawhis sickness,And Judahhis wound,Then Ephraimwentto AssyriaAnd sentto KingJareb.But he is unableto healyou, Or to cureyou of your wound.

So the LORDsaidto Joshua,"Riseup! Whyis it that you have fallenon your face?
