Now it happenedonedaythat he wentinto the houseto dohis work,and noneof the menof the householdwas thereinside.
But he refusedand saidto his master'swife,"Behold,with me [here], my masterdoes not concernhimself with anythingin the house,and he has putallthat he ownsin my charge.
"Thereis noone greaterin thishousethanI, and he has withheldnothingfrom me exceptyou, becauseyou are his wife.Howthen could I dothisgreateviland sinagainst God?"
My son,do not walkin the waywith them. Keepyour feetfrom their path,
To deliveryou from the strangewoman,From the adulteresswho flatterswith her words;
The mouthof an adulteressis a deeppit;He who is cursedof the LORDwill fallinto it.
For a harlotis a deeppitAnd an adulterouswomanis a narrowwell.
Surelyshe lurksas a robber,And increasesthe faithlessamong men.
For the lipsof an adulteressdriphoneyAnd smootherthanoilis her speech;
Keepyour wayfarfrom her And do not gonearthe doorof her house,
So she seizeshim and kisseshim And with a brazenfaceshe saysto him:
That they may keepyou from an adulteress,From the foreignerwho flatterswith her words.
She sitsat the doorwayof her house,On a seatby the highplacesof the city,
"Whoeveris naive,let him turnin here,"And to him wholacksunderstandingshe says,
Do not be deceived:"Badcompanycorruptsgoodmorals."
Fleeimmorality.Every[other] sinthat a mancommitsis outsidethe body,but the immoralman sinsagainsthis ownbody.
abstainfrom everyformof evil.
Therefore,I wantyounger[widows] to get married,bear children,keep house,[and] givethe enemynooccasionfor reproach;
Nowfleefrom youthfullustsand pursuerighteousness,faith,love[and] peace,with thosewho callon the Lordfrom a pureheart.
Beloved,I urgeyou as aliensand strangersto abstainfrom fleshlylustswhichwage waragainstthe soul.
