Now it cameabout whenRachelhad borneJoseph,that Jacobsaidto Laban,"Sendme away,that I may goto my own placeand to my own country.
As soonas He had finishedspeakingto Abrahamthe LORDdeparted,and Abrahamreturnedto his place.
Then he and the menwhowere with him ateand drankand spentthe night.When they arosein the morning,he said,"Sendme awayto my master."
He saidto them, "Do not delayme, since the LORDhas prosperedmy way.Sendme awaythat I may goto my master."
"Sojournin thislandand I will be with you and blessyou, for to you and to your descendantsI will givealltheselands,and I will establishthe oathwhichI sworeto your fatherAbraham.
And behold,the LORDstoodaboveit and said,"I am the LORD,the Godof your fatherAbrahamand the Godof Isaac;the landon whichyou lie,I will giveit to you and to your descendants.
"Behold,I am with you and will keepyou whereveryou go,and will bringyou backto thisland;for I will not leaveyou untilI have donewhatI have promisedyou."
I am the God[of] Bethel,whereyou anointeda pillar,whereyou madea vowto Me; nowarise,leavethisland,and returnto the landof your birth.'"
Earlyin the morningLabanarose,and kissedhis sonsand his daughtersand blessedthem. Then Labandepartedand returnedto his place.
By faithhe lived as an alienin the landof promise,as in a foreign[land], dwellingin tentswith Isaacand Jacob,fellow heirsof the samepromise;
