The mansaid,"The womanwhomYou gave[to be] with me, she gaveme from the tree,and I ate."
Then the LORDGodsaid,"It is not goodfor the manto be alone;I will makehim a helpersuitablefor him."
The mangavenamesto allthe cattle,and to the birdsof the sky,and to everybeastof the field,but for Adamthere was not founda helpersuitablefor him.
The LORDGodfashionedinto a womanthe ribwhichHe had takenfrom the man,and broughther to the man.
And He said,"Whotoldyou that you were naked?Have you eatenfrom the treeof whichI commandedyou not to eat?"
"Have I coveredmy transgressionslike Adam,By hidingmy iniquityin my bosom,
The foolishnessof manruinshis way,And his heartragesagainstthe LORD.
He who concealshis transgressionswill not prosper,But he who confessesand forsakes[them] will findcompassion.
But wishingto justifyhimself,he saidto Jesus,"And whois my neighbor?"
For not knowingabout God'srighteousnessand seekingto establishtheir own,they did not subjectthemselves to the righteousnessof God.
Saulsaid,"They have broughtthem from the Amalekites,for the peoplesparedthe bestof the sheepand oxen,to sacrificeto the LORDyour God;but the restwe have utterlydestroyed."
