"When you offeryour gifts,when you cause your sonsto passthrough the fire,you are defilingyourselves with allyour idolsto this day.And shall I be inquiredof by you, O houseof Israel?As I live,"declaresthe LordGOD,"I will not be inquiredof by you.
Thussaysthe LordGOD,"ThisalsoI will let the houseof IsraelaskMe to dofor them: I will increasetheir menlike a flock.
Therefore they inquiredfurtherof the LORD,"Has the mancomehereyet?"So the LORDsaid,"Behold,he is hidinghimselfby the baggage."
"Did I [just] beginto inquireof Godfor him today?Farbe it from me! Do not let the kingimputeanythingto his servant[or] to anyof the householdof my father,for your servantknowsnothingat allof thiswholeaffair."
When Saulinquiredof the LORD,the LORDdid not answerhim, eitherby dreamsorby Urimorby prophets.
Davidinquiredof the LORD,saying,"Shall I pursuethisband?Shall I overtakethem?" And He saidto him, "Pursue,for you will surelyovertakethem, and you will surelyrescue[all]."
