"For you have takenpledgesof your brotherswithoutcause,And strippedmen naked.
"To the wearyyou have givennowaterto drink,And from the hungryyou have withheldbread.
"IfI have keptthe poorfrom [their] desire,Or have caused the eyesof the widowto fail,
IfI have seenanyone perishfor lackof clothing,Or that the needyhadnocovering,
Ifhis loinshave not thankedme, And if he has not been warmedwith the fleeceof my sheep,
How blessedis he who considersthe helpless;The LORDwill deliverhim in a dayof trouble.
He who is generouswill be blessed,For he givessomeof his foodto the poor.

She extendsher handto the poor,And she stretchesout her handsto the needy.
