"I alsoestablishedMy covenantwith them, to givethem the landof Canaan,the landin whichthey sojourned.
"May He also giveyou the blessingof Abraham,to you and to your descendantswith you, that you may possessthe landof your sojournings,whichGodgaveto Abraham."
On that daythe LORDmadea covenantwith Abram,saying,"To your descendantsI have giventhisland,From the riverof Egyptas faras the greatriver,the riverEuphrates:
"Sojournin thislandand I will be with you and blessyou, for to you and to your descendantsI will givealltheselands,and I will establishthe oathwhichI sworeto your fatherAbraham.
"But He gavehim noinheritancein it, not evena footof ground,and [yet], even when he had nochild,He promisedthat HE WOULD GIVEIT TO HIM AS A POSSESSION,AND TO HIS DESCENDANTSAFTERHIM.
"Inclineyour earand cometo Me. Listen,that you may live;And I will makean everlastingcovenantwith you, [According to] the faithfulmerciesshown to David.
When they were only a fewmenin number,Very few,and strangersin it.
"Trulyis not my housesowith God?For He has madean everlastingcovenantwith me, Orderedin allthings,and secured;For allmy salvationand all[my] desire,Will He not indeedmake [it] grow?
And behold,the LORDstoodaboveit and said,"I am the LORD,the Godof your fatherAbrahamand the Godof Isaac;the landon whichyou lie,I will giveit to you and to your descendants.
"I am a strangerand a sojourneramongyou; giveme a burialsiteamongyou that I may burymy deadout of my sight."
"A [servant] whois bornin your houseor whois boughtwith your moneyshall surelybe circumcised;thus shall My covenantbe in your fleshfor an everlastingcovenant.
"As for Me, behold,My covenantis with you, And you will be the fatherof a multitudeof nations.
[God] saidto Abram,"Knowfor certainthat your descendantswill be strangersin a landthat is not theirs,where they will be enslavedand oppressedfourhundredyears.
"But I will establishMy covenantwith you; and you shall enterthe ark--you and your sonsand your wife,and your sons'wiveswith you.
The LORDappearedto Abramand said,"To your descendantsI will givethisland."So he builtan altarthereto the LORDwho had appearedto him.
"I will multiplyyour descendantsas the starsof heaven,and will giveyour descendantsalltheselands;and by your descendantsallthe nationsof the earthshall be blessed;
Then Mosessaidto Hobabthe sonof Reuelthe Midianite,Moses'father-in-law,"We are settingout to the placeof whichthe LORDsaid,I will giveit to you'; comewith us and we will doyou good,for the LORDhas promisedgoodconcerningIsrael."
I will bringyou to the landwhichI sworeto giveto Abraham,Isaac,and Jacob,and I will giveit to you [for] a possession;I am the LORD.'"
"On this dayin the monthof Abib,you are about to goforth.
"It shall be whenthe LORDbringsyou to the landof the Canaanite,the Hittite,the Amorite,the Hiviteand the Jebusite,whichHe sworeto your fathersto giveyou, a landflowingwith milkand honey,that you shall observethisritein thismonth.
Saying,"To you I will givethe landof CanaanAs the portionof your inheritance,"
