Whenever Mosesenteredthe tent,the pillarof cloudwould descendand standat the entranceof the tent;and the LORD would speakwith Moses.
When He finishedtalkingwith him, Godwentup from Abraham.
As soonas He had finishedspeakingto Abrahamthe LORDdeparted,and Abrahamreturnedto his place.
He spoketo them in the pillarof cloud;They keptHis testimoniesAnd the statutethat He gavethem.
"ThereI will meetwith you; and from abovethe mercyseat,from betweenthe twocherubimwhichare upon the arkof the testimony,I will speakto you about allthat I will giveyou in commandmentfor the sonsof Israel.
When He had finishedspeakingwith him upon MountSinai,He gaveMosesthe twotabletsof the testimony,tabletsof stone,writtenby the fingerof God.
When allthe peoplesawthe pillarof cloudstandingat the entranceof the tent,allthe peoplewould ariseand worship,eachat the entranceof his tent.
Thus the LORDused to speakto Mosesfaceto face,justas a manspeaksto his friend.When Moses returnedto the camp,his servantJoshua,the sonof Nun,a youngman,would not departfrom the tent.
And it cameabout, whenever Moseswentout to the tent,that allthe peoplewould ariseand stand,eachat the entranceof his tent,and gazeafterMosesuntilhe enteredthe tent.
"Nomanis to comeup with you, norlet anymanbe seenanywhereon the mountain;eventhe flocksand the herdsmay not grazein frontof that mountain."
The LORDdescendedin the cloudand stoodtherewith him as he calledupon the nameof the LORD.
He said,"IfnowI have foundfavorin Your sight,O Lord,I pray,let the Lordgoalong in our midst,eventhoughthe peopleare so obstinate,and pardonour iniquityand our sin,and takeus as Your own possession."
The handof the LORDwas on me there,and He saidto me, "Getup, goout to the plain,and thereI will speakto you."
"Then I will comedownand speakwith you there,and I will takeof the Spiritwhois upon you, and will put[Him] upon them; and they shall bearthe burdenof the peoplewith you, so that you will not bear[it] all alone.
Now when Moseswentinto the tentof meetingto speakwith Him, he heardthe voicespeakingto him from abovethe mercyseatthat was on the arkof the testimony,from betweenthe twocherubim,so He spoketo him.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Behold,the timefor you to dieis near;callJoshua,and presentyourselves at the tentof meeting,that I may commissionhim." So Mosesand Joshuawentand presentedthemselves at the tentof meeting.
The LORDappearedin the tentin a pillarof cloud,and the pillarof cloudstoodat the doorwayof the tent.
