Aaronsaidto them, "Tearoffthe goldringswhichare in the earsof your wives,your sons,and your daughters,and bring[them] to me."
He took[this] from their hand,and fashionedit with a gravingtooland madeit into a moltencalf;and they said,"Thisis your god,O Israel,whobroughtyou up from the landof Egypt."
So the sonsof Israelstrippedthemselves of their ornaments,from MountHoreb[onward].
