"They will payheedto whatyou say;and you with the eldersof Israelwill cometo the kingof Egyptand you will sayto him, 'The LORD,the Godof the Hebrews,has metwith us. So now,please,let us goa threedays'journeyinto the wilderness,that we may sacrificeto the LORDour God.'
Now the LORDsaidto Abram,"Goforth from your country,And from your relativesAnd from your father'shouse,To the landwhichI will showyou;
Then a fugitivecameand toldAbramthe Hebrew.Now he was livingby the oaksof Mamrethe Amorite,brotherof Eshcoland brotherof Aner,and thesewere allieswith Abram.
Afterthesethingsthe wordof the LORDcameto Abramin a vision,saying,"Do not fear,Abram,I am a shieldto you; Your rewardshall be verygreat."
Now when Abramwas ninety-nineyearsold,the LORDappearedto Abramand saidto him, "I am GodAlmighty;WalkbeforeMe, and be blameless.
Then Jacobsaidto Joseph,"GodAlmightyappearedto me at Luzin the landof Canaanand blessedme,
The handof Godwas alsoon Judahto givethem oneheartto dowhatthe kingand the princescommandedby the wordof the LORD.
Your peoplewill volunteerfreelyin the dayof Your power;In holyarray,from the wombof the dawn,Your youthare to You [as] the dew.
Mosesand Aaronwentto Pharaohand saidto him, "Thussaysthe LORD,the Godof the Hebrews,'Howlongwill you refuseto humbleyourself beforeMe? LetMy peoplego,that they may serveMe.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Passbeforethe peopleand takewith you someof the eldersof Israel;and takein your handyour staffwith whichyou struckthe Nile,and go.
In the thirdmonthafter the sonsof Israelhad goneout of the landof Egypt,on that very daythey cameinto the wildernessof Sinai.
"ThereI will meetwith you; and from abovethe mercyseat,from betweenthe twocherubimwhichare upon the arkof the testimony,I will speakto you about allthat I will giveyou in commandmentfor the sonsof Israel.
And He said,"CertainlyI will be with you, and thisshall be the signto you that it is I who have sentyou: when you have broughtthe peopleout of Egypt,you shall worshipGodat thismountain."
"Goand gatherthe eldersof Israeltogether and sayto them, 'The LORD,the Godof your fathers,the Godof Abraham,Isaacand Jacob,has appearedto me, saying,"I amindeedconcernedabout you and what has been doneto you in Egypt.
"You shall beatsomeof it veryfine,and putpart of it beforethe testimonyin the tentof meetingwhereI will meetwith you; it shall be mostholyto you.
"You shall putthis altar in frontof the veilthat is nearthe arkof the testimony,in frontof the mercyseatthat is over[the ark of] the testimony,whereI will meetwith you.
Then Mosessaid,"What ifthey will not believeme or listento whatI say?For they may say,The LORDhas not appearedto you.'"
"So I saidto you, 'LetMy songothat he may serveMe'; but you have refusedto lethim go.Behold,I will killyour son,your firstborn."'"
Now it cameabout at the lodgingplaceon the waythat the LORDmethim and soughtto puthim to death.
So the peoplebelieved;and when they heardthat the LORDwas concernedabout the sonsof Israeland that He had seentheir affliction,then they bowedlowand worshiped.
And afterwardMosesand Aaroncameand saidto Pharaoh,"Thussaysthe LORD,the Godof Israel,LetMy peoplegothat they may celebratea feastto Me in the wilderness.'"
Then they said,"The Godof the Hebrewshas metwith us. Please,let us goa threedays'journeyinto the wildernessthat we may sacrificeto the LORDour God,otherwiseHe will fallupon us with pestilenceorwith the sword."
"You shall sayto him, 'The LORD,the Godof the Hebrews,sentme to you, saying,"LetMy peoplego,that they may serveMe in the wilderness.But behold,you have not listeneduntilnow."
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Goto Pharaohand sayto him, 'Thussaysthe LORD,"LetMy peoplego,that they may serveMe.
Now the LORDsaidto Moses,"Riseearlyin the morningand presentyourselfbeforePharaoh,as he comesout to the water,and sayto him, 'Thussaysthe LORD,"LetMy peoplego,that they may serveMe.
"I will puta divisionbetweenMy peopleand your people.Tomorrowthissignwill occur."'"
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Goto Pharaohand speakto him, 'Thussaysthe LORD,the Godof the Hebrews,"LetMy peoplego,that they may serveMe.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Riseup earlyin the morningand standbeforePharaohand sayto him, 'Thussaysthe LORD,the Godof the Hebrews,"LetMy peoplego,that they may serveMe.
You meethim who rejoicesin doingrighteousness,Who remembersYou in Your ways.Behold,You were angry,for we sinned,[We continued] in them a longtime;And shall we be saved?
"Goand proclaimin the earsof Jerusalem,saying,'Thussaysthe LORD,"I rememberconcerning you the devotionof your youth,The loveof your betrothals,Your followingafterMe in the wilderness,Through a landnot sown.
"They did not say,'Whereis the LORDWho broughtus up out of the landof Egypt,Who ledus through the wilderness,Through a landof desertsand of pits,Through a landof droughtand of deepdarkness,Through a landthat noonecrossedAnd wherenomandwelt?'
to listento the wordsof My servantsthe prophets,whomI have been sendingto you againand again,but you have not listened;
"You shall then depositthem in the tentof meetingin frontof the testimony,whereI meetwith you.
"Justas we obeyedMosesin allthings,sowe will obeyyou; onlymay the LORDyour Godbe with you as He was with Moses.
