"Therefore, comenow,and I will sendyou to Pharaoh,so that you may bringMy people,the sonsof Israel,out of Egypt."
[God] saidto Abram,"Knowfor certainthat your descendantswill be strangersin a landthat is not theirs,where they will be enslavedand oppressedfourhundredyears.
"But I will alsojudgethe nationwhomthey will serve,and afterwardthey will comeout with manypossessions.
He sentMosesHis servant,[And] Aaron,whomHe had chosen.
You ledYour peoplelike a flockBy the handof Mosesand Aaron.
Now the timethat the sonsof Israellivedin Egyptwas fourhundredand thirtyyears.
And at the endof fourhundredand thirtyyears,to the veryday,allthe hostsof the LORDwentout from the landof Egypt.
Then Mosessaidto the LORD,"See,You sayto me, 'Bringup thispeople!'But You Yourselfhave not let me knowwhomYou will sendwith me. Moreover, You have said,'I have knownyou by name,and you have alsofoundfavorin My sight.'
"Nowtherefore, I prayYou, ifI have foundfavorin Your sight,let me knowYour waysthat I may knowYou, sothat I may findfavorin Your sight.Considertoo, that thisnationis Your people."
It was [the same] Aaronand Mosesto whomthe LORDsaid,"Bringout the sonsof Israelfrom the landof Egyptaccordingto their hosts."
But by a prophetthe LORDbroughtIsraelfrom Egypt,And by a prophethe was kept.
"Indeed,I broughtyou up from the landof EgyptAnd ransomedyou from the houseof slavery,And I sentbeforeyou Moses,Aaronand Miriam.
I HAVE CERTAINLY SEENTHE OPPRESSIONOF MY PEOPLEIN EGYPTAND HAVE HEARDTHEIR GROANS,AND I HAVE COME DOWNTO RESCUETHEM; COMENOW,AND I WILL SENDYOU TO EGYPT.'
"This manledthem out, performingwondersand signsin the landof Egyptand in the RedSeaand in the wildernessfor fortyyears.
"But Godspoketo this effect,that his DESCENDANTSWOULD BE ALIENSIN A FOREIGNLAND,AND THAT THEY WOULD BE ENSLAVEDAND MISTREATEDFOR FOUR HUNDREDYEARS.
"'AND WHATEVERNATIONTO WHICHTHEY WILL BE IN BONDAGEI MYSELFWILL JUDGE,'saidGod,AND AFTERTHAT THEY WILL COMEOUT AND SERVEME IN THISPLACE.'
The LORDlookedat him and said,"Goin thisyour strengthand deliverIsraelfrom the handof Midian.Have I not sentyou?"
Then Samuelsaidto the people,"It is the LORDwhoappointedMosesand Aaronand whobroughtyour fathersup from the landof Egypt.
"WhenJacobwentinto Egyptand your fatherscriedout to the LORD,then the LORDsentMosesand Aaronwho broughtyour fathersout of Egyptand settledthem in thisplace.
