and let them be readyfor the thirdday,for on the thirddaythe LORDwill comedownon MountSinaiin the sightof allthe people.
The LORDcamedownto seethe cityand the towerwhichthe sonsof menhad built.
"Then You camedownon MountSinai,And spokewith them from heaven;You gavethem justordinancesand true laws,Goodstatutesand commandments.
BowYour heavens,O LORD,and comedown;Touchthe mountains,that they may smoke.
He bowedthe heavensalso, and camedownWith thickdarknessunderHis feet.
So it cameabout on the thirdday,when it was morning,that there were thunderand lightningflashesand a thickcloudupon the mountainand a veryloudtrumpetsound,so that allthe peoplewho[were] in the camptrembled.
Now MountSinai[was] allin smokebecausethe LORDdescendedupon it in fire;and its smokeascendedlike the smokeof a furnace,and the wholemountainquakedviolently.
The LORDcamedownon MountSinai,to the topof the mountain;and the LORDcalledMosesto the topof the mountain,and Moseswentup.
The gloryof the LORDrestedon MountSinai,and the cloudcoveredit for sixdays;and on the seventhdayHe calledto Mosesfrom the midstof the cloud.
And to the eyesof the sonsof Israelthe appearanceof the gloryof the LORDwas like a consumingfireon the mountaintop.
"So I have comedownto deliverthem from the powerof the Egyptians,and to bringthem up from that landto a goodand spaciousland,to a landflowingwith milkand honey,to the placeof the Canaaniteand the Hittiteand the Amoriteand the Perizziteand the Hiviteand the Jebusite.
"So be readyby morning,and comeup in the morningto MountSinai,and presentyourselfthereto Me on the topof the mountain.
The LORDdescendedin the cloudand stoodtherewith him as he calledupon the nameof the LORD.
"Then I will comedownand speakwith you there,and I will takeof the Spiritwhois upon you, and will put[Him] upon them; and they shall bearthe burdenof the peoplewith you, so that you will not bear[it] all alone.
"No onehas ascendedinto heaven,but He who descendedfrom heaven:the Sonof Man.
"For I have come downfrom heaven,not to doMy ownwill,but the willof Him who sentMe.
He said,"The LORDcamefrom Sinai,And dawnedon them from Seir;He shoneforthfrom MountParan,And He camefrom the midst of tenthousandholyones;At His righthandthere was flashinglightningfor them.
"[Remember] the dayyou stoodbeforethe LORDyour Godat Horeb,when the LORDsaidto me, 'Assemblethe peopleto Me, that I may let them hearMy wordssothey may learnto fearMe allthe daysthey liveon the earth,and that they may teachtheir children.'
Then Joshuasaidto the people,"Consecrateyourselves, for tomorrowthe LORDwill dowondersamongyou."
