"RememberAbraham,Isaac,and Israel,Your servantsto whomYou sworeby Yourself, and saidto them, 'I will multiplyyour descendantsas the starsof the heavens,and allthislandof whichI have spokenI will giveto your descendants,and they shall inherit[it] forever.'"
Then the LORDspoketo Moses,"Depart,goup from here,you and the peoplewhomyou have broughtup from the landof Egypt,to the landof whichI sworeto Abraham,Isaac,and Jacob,saying,To your descendantsI will giveit.'
"Be sure to observewhatI am commandingyou this day:behold,I am going to driveout the Amoritebeforeyou, and the Canaanite,the Hittite,the Perizzite,the Hiviteand the Jebusite.
"I alsoestablishedMy covenantwith them, to givethem the landof Canaan,the landin whichthey sojourned.
I will bringyou to the landwhichI sworeto giveto Abraham,Isaac,and Jacob,and I will giveit to you [for] a possession;I am the LORD.'"
in orderto confirmthe oathwhichI sworeto your forefathers,to givethem a landflowingwith milkand honey,as [it is] thisday."'"Then I said,"Amen,O LORD."
and gavethem thisland,whichYou sworeto their forefathersto givethem, a landflowingwith milkand honey.
on that dayI sworeto them, to bringthem out from the landof Egyptinto a landthat I had selectedfor them, flowingwith milkand honey,whichis the gloryof alllands.
Hence I have saidto you, "You are to possesstheir land,and I Myselfwill giveit to you to possessit, a landflowingwith milkand honey."I am the LORDyour God,whohas separatedyou from the peoples.
"Was it I who conceivedallthispeople?Was it I who broughtthem forth,that You should sayto me, 'Carrythem in your bosomas a nursecarriesa nursinginfant,to the landwhichYou sworeto their fathers'?
Thus they toldhim, and said,"We wentin to the landwhereyou sentus; and it certainlydoes flowwith milkand honey,and thisis its fruit.
Becausethe LORDcouldnot bringthispeopleinto the landwhichHe promisedthem by oath,therefore He slaughteredthem in the wilderness.'
Surelyyou shall not comeinto the landin whichI sworeto settleyou, exceptCalebthe sonof Jephunnehand Joshuathe sonof Nun.
Noneof the menwho cameup from Egypt,from twentyyearsoldand upward,shall seethe landwhichI sworeto Abraham,to Isaacand to Jacob;for they did not followMe fully,
"Whenthe LORDyour Godcutsoffbeforeyou the nationswhichyou are goingin to dispossess,and you dispossessthem and dwellin their land,
"Whenthe LORDyour Godcutsoffthe nations,whoselandthe LORDyour Godgivesyou, and you dispossessthem and settlein their citiesand in their houses,
"Then it shall be, whenyou enterthe landwhichthe LORDyour Godgivesyou as an inheritance,and you possessit and livein it,
"Whenthe LORDyour Godbringsyou into the landwhereyou are enteringto possessit, and clearsawaymanynationsbeforeyou, the Hittitesand the Girgashitesand the Amoritesand the Canaanitesand the Perizzitesand the Hivitesand the Jebusites,sevennationsgreaterand strongerthanyou,
You crossedthe Jordanand cameto Jericho;and the citizensof Jerichofoughtagainst you, [and] the Amoriteand the Perizziteand the Canaaniteand the Hittiteand the Girgashite,the Hiviteand the Jebusite.Thus I gavethem into your hand.
