Then Mosescalledfor allthe eldersof Israeland saidto them, "Goand takefor yourselves lambsaccording to your families,and slaythe Passover[lamb].
Then the kingcommandedallthe peoplesaying,"Celebratethe Passoverto the LORDyour Godas it is writtenin thisbookof the covenant."
For the priestsand the Leviteshad purifiedthemselves together;allof them were pure.Then they slaughteredthe Passover[lamb] for allthe exiles,both for their brothersthe priestsand for themselves.
Now you shall eatit in thismanner:[with] your loinsgirded,your sandalson your feet,and your staffin your hand;and you shall eatit in haste--it is the LORD'SPassover.
You shall not eatanythingleavened;in allyour dwellingsyou shall eatunleavenedbread.'"
"Speakto allthe congregationof Israel,saying,'On the tenthof thismonththey are eachoneto takea lambfor themselves, according to their fathers'households,a lambfor each household.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Passbeforethe peopleand takewith you someof the eldersof Israel;and takein your handyour staffwith whichyou struckthe Nile,and go.
So Mosescameand calledthe eldersof the people,and setbeforethem allthesewordswhichthe LORDhad commandedhim.
"Goand gatherthe eldersof Israeltogether and sayto them, 'The LORD,the Godof your fathers,the Godof Abraham,Isaacand Jacob,has appearedto me, saying,"I amindeedconcernedabout you and what has been doneto you in Egypt.
The LORDtherefore saidto Moses,"Gatherfor Me seventymenfrom the eldersof Israel,whomyou knowto be the eldersof the peopleand their officersand bringthem to the tentof meeting,and let them taketheir standtherewith you.
and alldrankthe samespiritualdrink,for they were drinkingfrom a spiritualrockwhich followedthem; and the rockwas Christ.
By faithhe keptthe Passoverand the sprinklingof the blood,sothat he who destroyedthe firstbornwould not touchthem.
While the sonsof Israelcampedat Gilgalthey observedthe Passoveron the eveningof the fourteenthdayof the monthon the desertplainsof Jericho.
