But the sonsof Israelwere fruitfuland increasedgreatly,and multiplied,and becameexceedinglymighty,so that the landwas filledwith them.
Then Godsaid,"Let the watersteemwith swarmsof livingcreatures,and let birdsflyabovethe earthin the openexpanseof the heavens."
Godblessedthem; and Godsaidto them, "Be fruitfuland multiply,and fillthe earth,and subdueit; and ruleover the fishof the seaand over the birdsof the skyand over everylivingthingthat moveson the earth."
And I will makeyou a greatnation,And I will blessyou, And makeyour namegreat;And so you shall be a blessing;
"I will makeyour descendantsas the dustof the earth,sothat ifanyonecannumberthe dustof the earth,then your descendantscan alsobe numbered.
And He tookhim outsideand said,"Nowlooktoward the heavens,and countthe stars,ifyou are ableto countthem." And He saidto him, "Soshall your descendantsbe."
"I will blessher, and indeedI will giveyou a sonby her. Then I will blessher, and she shall be [a mother of] nations;kingsof peopleswill comefrom her."
indeedI will greatlyblessyou, and I will greatlymultiplyyour seedas the starsof the heavensand as the sandwhichis on the seashore;and your seedshall possessthe gateof their enemies.
He movedawayfrom thereand duganotherwell,and they did not quarreloverit; so he namedit Rehoboth,for he said,"At lastthe LORDhas maderoomfor us, and we will be fruitfulin the land."
"I will multiplyyour descendantsas the starsof heaven,and will giveyour descendantsalltheselands;and by your descendantsallthe nationsof the earthshall be blessed;
"Your descendantswill also be like the dustof the earth,and you will spreadout to the westand to the eastand to the northand to the south;and in you and in your descendantsshall allthe familiesof the earthbe blessed.
Godalso saidto him, "I am GodAlmighty;Be fruitfuland multiply;A nationand a companyof nationsshall comefrom you, And kingsshall comeforthfrom you.
He said,"I am God,the Godof your father;do not be afraidto godownto Egypt,for I will makeyou a greatnationthere.
Now Israellivedin the landof Egypt,in Goshen,and they acquiredpropertyin it and were fruitfuland becameverynumerous.
The angelwho has redeemedme from allevil,Blessthe lads;And may my nameliveon in them, And the namesof my fathersAbrahamand Isaac;And may they growinto a multitudein the midstof the earth."
and He saidto me, 'Behold,I will makeyou fruitfuland numerous,and I will makeyou a companyof peoples,and will givethislandto your descendantsafteryou for an everlastingpossession.'
And GodblessedNoahand his sonsand saidto them, "Be fruitfuland multiply,and fillthe earth.
"You madetheir sonsnumerousas the starsof heaven,And You broughtthem into the landWhichYou had toldtheir fathersto enterand possess.
And He caused His peopleto be veryfruitful,And madethem strongerthantheir adversaries.
Also He blessesthem and they multiplygreatly,And He does not let their cattledecrease.
But the morethey afflictedthem, the morethey multipliedand the morethey spreadout, so that they were in dreadof the sonsof Israel.
Now the sonsof Israeljourneyedfrom Ramesesto Succoth,about sixhundredthousandmenon foot,asidefrom children.
Again Pharaohsaid,"Look,the peopleof the landare nowmany,and you would have them ceasefrom their labors!"
"I madeyou numerouslike plantsof the field.Then you grewup, becametalland reachedthe agefor fineornaments;[your] breastswere formedand your hairhad grown.Yet you were nakedand bare.
"The Godof thispeopleIsraelchoseour fathersand madethe peoplegreatduringtheir stayin the landof Egypt,and with an upliftedarmHe ledthem out from it.
"Your fatherswentdownto Egyptseventypersons[in all], and nowthe LORDyour Godhas madeyou as numerousas the starsof heaven.
"You shall answerand saybeforethe LORDyour God,My fatherwas a wanderingAramean,and he wentdownto Egyptand sojournedthere,fewin number;but therehe becamea great,mightyand populousnation.
