Let no onedeceiveyou with emptywords,for becauseof these thingsthe wrathof Godcomesupon the sonsof disobedience.
"You say(but [they are] onlyemptywords),'[I have] counseland strengthfor the war.'Nowon whomdo you rely,that you have rebelledagainst me?
The angerof Godroseagainst them And killedsome of their stoutestones, And subduedthe choicemenof Israel.
"But as for you, do not listento your prophets,your diviners,your dreamers,your soothsayersor your sorcererswhospeakto you, saying,'You will not servethe kingof Babylon.'
"Sendto allthe exiles,saying,'Thussaysthe LORDconcerningShemaiahthe Nehelamite,"BecauseShemaiahhas prophesiedto you, although I did not sendhim, and he has made you trustin a lie,"
"Thussaysthe LORD,Do not deceiveyourselves,saying,"The Chaldeanswill surelygoaway from us," for they will not go.
Thussaysthe LORDconcerningthe prophetswho leadmy peopleastray;When they have [something] to bitewith their teeth,They cry,"Peace,"But againsthim whoputsnothingin their mouthsThey declareholywar.
"For false Christsand false prophetswill ariseand will showgreatsignsand wonders,soas to mislead,ifpossible,eventhe elect.
And Jesusansweredand saidto them, "Seeto it that noonemisleadsyou.
for false Christsand false prophetswill arise,and will showsignsand wonders,in orderto lead astray,ifpossible,the elect.
And Jesusbeganto sayto them, "Seeto it that noonemisleadsyou.
For the wrathof Godis revealedfrom heavenagainstallungodlinessand unrighteousnessof menwho suppressthe truthin unrighteousness,
Let no onekeep defrauding you of your prizeby delightingin self-abasementand the worshipof the angels,taking his standon [visions] he has seen,inflatedwithout causeby his fleshlymind,
I saythissothat no onewill deludeyou with persuasive argument.
Seeto it that noonetakes you captivethroughphilosophyand emptydeception,accordingto the traditionof men,accordingto the elementary principlesof the world,ratherthanaccordingto Christ.
For it is becauseof these thingsthat the wrathof Godwill comeupon the sonsof disobedience,
Let noonein anywaydeceiveyou, for [it will not come] unlessthe apostasycomesfirst,and the manof lawlessnessis revealed,the sonof destruction,
Do not be carried awayby variedand strangeteachings;for it is goodfor the heartto be strengthenedby grace,not by foods,throughwhichthosewho were so occupiedwere not benefited.
[So] we seethat they were not ableto enterbecauseof unbelief.
and, "A STONEOF STUMBLINGAND A ROCKOF OFFENSE";for they stumblebecause they are disobedientto the word,and to this[doom] they were alsoappointed.
Beloved,do not believeeveryspirit,but testthe spiritsto see whetherthey are from God,becausemanyfalse prophetshave goneout into the world.
