"I have ledyou fortyyearsin the wilderness;your clotheshave not wornout on you, and your sandalhas not wornout on your foot.
"Indeed, fortyyearsYou providedfor them in the wilderness[and] they were not in want;Their clothesdid not wearout, nordid their feetswell.
He raineddownmannaupon them to eatAnd gavethem foodfrom heaven.
Then I will takeyou for My people,and I will be your God;and you shall knowthat I am the LORDyour God,who broughtyou out from underthe burdensof the Egyptians.

Your sonsshall be shepherdsfor fortyyearsin the wilderness,and they will suffer[for] your unfaithfulness,untilyour corpsesliein the wilderness.

In the fortiethyear,on the first[day] of the eleventhmonth,Mosesspoketo the childrenof Israel,according to allthat the LORDhad commandedhim [to give] to them,
"You shall rememberallthe waywhichthe LORDyour Godhas ledyou in the wildernessthesefortyyears,that He might humbleyou, testingyou, to knowwhatwas in your heart,whether you would keepHis commandmentsornot.
"He humbledyou and let you be hungry,and fedyou with mannawhichyou did not know,nordid your fathersknow,that He might make you understandthat mandoes not liveby breadalone,but manlivesby everythingthat proceedsout of the mouthof the LORD.
"Your clothingdid not wearout on you, nordid your footswellthesefortyyears.
"Thesewineskinswhichwe filledwere new,and behold,they are torn;and theseour clothesand our sandalsare wornout becauseof the verylongjourney."
and worn-outand patchedsandalson their feet,and worn-outclotheson themselves; and allthe breadof their provisionwas dry[and] had becomecrumbled.
