and you will gropeat noon,as the blindmangropesin darkness,and you will not prosperin your ways;but you shall onlybe oppressedand robbedcontinually,with noneto saveyou.
They struckthe menwhowere at the doorwayof the housewith blindness,bothsmalland great,so that they wearied[themselves trying] to findthe doorway.
"Its abundantproduceis for the kingsWhomYou have setoverus because of our sins;They also ruleoverour bodiesAnd over our cattleas they please,So we are in greatdistress.
"They gropein darknesswith nolight,And He makes them staggerlike a drunkenman.
"By daythey meetwith darkness,And gropeat noonas in the night.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Stretchout your handtowardthe sky,that there may be darknessoverthe landof Egypt,even a darknesswhich may be felt."
We gropealong the walllike blindmen,We gropelike those who havenoeyes;We stumbleat middayas in the twilight,Among those whoare vigorous[we are] like deadmen.
"For a voiceof wailingis heardfrom Zion,Howare we ruined!We are putto greatshame,For we have leftthe land,Becausethey have castdownour dwellings.'"
They wandered,blind,in the streets;They were defiledwith bloodSo that noone couldtouchtheir garments.
Becauseof thisour heartis faint,Becauseof thesethingsour eyesare dim;
Slavesruleover us; Thereis nooneto deliverus from their hand.
I will bringdistresson menSo that they will walklike the blind,Becausethey have sinnedagainst the LORD;And their bloodwill be pouredout like dustAnd their fleshlike dung.
takethem and purifyyourself alongwith them, and pay their expensessothat they may shavetheir heads;and allwill knowthat there is nothingto the things whichthey have been toldaboutyou, but that you yourselfalsowalk orderly,keepingthe Law.
For I do not wantyou, brethren,to be uninformedof thismystery--sothat you will not be wisein your own estimation--that a partialhardeninghas happenedto Israeluntilthe fullnessof the Gentileshas comein;
"The LORDwill smiteyou with madnessand with blindnessand with bewildermentof heart;
They afflictedand crushedthe sonsof Israelthat year;for eighteenyearsthey [afflicted] allthe sonsof Israelwhowere beyondthe Jordanin Gileadin the landof the Amorites.
Now the sonsof Israelagaindidevilin the sightof the LORD,so that the LORDgavethem into the handsof the Philistinesfortyyears.
The sonsof IsraelservedEglonthe kingof Moabeighteenyears.
