"And you shall rejoicebeforethe LORDyour God,you and your sonsand daughters,your maleand femaleservants,and the Levitewhois within your gates,sincehe hasnoportionor inheritancewith you.
On the eighthdayhe sentthe peopleawayand they blessedthe king.Then they wentto their tentsjoyfuland gladof heartfor allthe goodnessthat the LORDhad shownto DavidHis servantand to IsraelHis people.
Then Hezekiahand allthe peoplerejoicedoverwhat Godhad preparedfor the people,becausethe thingcameabout suddenly.
Then Nehemiah,whowas the governor,and Ezrathe priest[and] scribe,and the Leviteswho taughtthe peoplesaidto allthe people,"Thisdayis holyto the LORDyour God;do not mournor weep."For allthe peoplewere weepingwhen they heardthe wordsof the law.
Praisethe LORD!For it is goodto singpraisesto our God;For it is pleasant[and] praiseis becoming.
Now on the firstdayyou shall takefor yourselves the foliageof beautifultrees,palmbranchesand boughsof leafytreesand willowsof the brook,and you shall rejoicebeforethe LORDyour Godfor sevendays.
Then the LORDsaidto Aaron,"You shall have noinheritancein their landnorownany portionamongthem; I am your portionand your inheritanceamongthe sonsof Israel.
"Moreover, you shall speakto the Levitesand sayto them, 'Whenyou takefrom the sonsof Israelthe tithewhichI have givenyou from them for your inheritance,then you shall presentan offeringfrom it to the LORD,a titheof the tithe.
Petersaidto Him, "Nevershall You washmy feet!"Jesusansweredhim, "IfI do not washyou, you havenopartwith Me."
"You have nopartorportionin thismatter,for your heartis not rightbeforeGod.
Therefore,Levidoes not havea portionor inheritancewith his brothers;the LORDis his inheritance,justas the LORDyour Godspoketo him.)
"But you shall eatthem beforethe LORDyour Godin the placewhichthe LORDyour Godwill choose,you and your sonand daughter,and your maleand femaleservants,and the Levitewhois within your gates;and you shall rejoicebeforethe LORDyour Godin allyour undertakings.
"Be carefulthat you do not forsakethe Leviteas longas you livein your land.
"Therealso you and your householdsshall eatbeforethe LORDyour God,and rejoicein allyour undertakingsin whichthe LORDyour Godhas blessedyou.
"The Levite,becausehe hasnoportionor inheritanceamongyou, and the alien,the orphanand the widowwhoare in your town,shall comeand eatand be satisfied,in orderthat the LORDyour Godmay blessyou in allthe workof your handwhichyou do.
and you shall rejoicebeforethe LORDyour God,you and your sonand your daughterand your maleand femaleservantsand the Levitewhois in your town,and the strangerand the orphanand the widowwhoare in your midst,in the placewherethe LORDyour Godchoosesto establishHis name.
and you shall rejoicein your feast,you and your sonand your daughterand your maleand femaleservantsand the Leviteand the strangerand the orphanand the widowwhoare in your towns.
"Now ifa Levitecomesfrom anyof your townsthroughoutIsraelwherehe resides,and comeswheneverhe desiresto the placewhichthe LORDchooses,
and you and the Leviteand the alienwhois amongyou shall rejoicein allthe goodwhichthe LORDyour Godhas givenyou and your household.
"Whenyou have finishedpayingallthe titheof your increasein the thirdyear,the yearof tithing,then you shall giveit to the Levite,to the stranger,to the orphanand to the widow,that they may eatin your townsand be satisfied.
and you shall sacrificepeaceofferingsand eatthere,and rejoicebeforethe LORDyour God.
Onlyto the tribeof Levihe did not givean inheritance;the offeringsby fireto the LORD,the Godof Israel,are their inheritance,as He spoketo him.
But to the tribeof Levi,Mosesdid not givean inheritance;the LORD,the Godof Israel,is their inheritance,as He had promisedto them.
For the sonsof Josephwere twotribes,Manassehand Ephraim,and they did not givea portionto the Levitesin the land,exceptcitiesto livein, with their pasturelandsfor their livestockand for their property.
