"As for me, Daniel,my spiritwas distressedwithinme, and the visionsin my mindkept alarmingme.
Now in the morninghis spiritwas troubled,so he sentand calledfor allthe magiciansof Egypt,and allits wisemen.And Pharaohtoldthem his dreams,but therewas noonewho could interpretthem to Pharaoh.
But as for me, I have not hurriedaway from [being] a shepherdafterYou, Norhave I longedfor the woefulday;You Yourselfknowthat the utteranceof my lipsWas in Your presence.
And behold,one whoresembleda humanbeingwas touchingmy lips;then I openedmy mouthand spokeand saidto him who was standingbeforeme, "O my lord,as a result of the visionanguishhas comeupon me, and I have retainednostrength.
Now in the secondyearof the reignof Nebuchadnezzar,Nebuchadnezzarhaddreams;and his spiritwas troubledand his sleeplefthim.
The kingsaidto them, "I hada dreamand my spiritis anxiousto understandthe dream."
"ThenDaniel,whosenameis Belteshazzar,was appalledfor a whileas his thoughtsalarmedhim. The kingrespondedand said,'Belteshazzar,do not let the dreamor its interpretationalarmyou.' Belteshazzarreplied,My lord,[if only] the dreamapplied to those who hateyou and its interpretationto your adversaries!
"I sawa dreamand it mademe fearful;and [these] fantasies[as I lay] on my bedand the visionsin my mindkeptalarmingme.
In the firstyearof Belshazzarkingof BabylonDanielsawa dreamand visionsin his mind[as he lay] on his bed;thenhe wrotethe dreamdown[and] relatedthe [following] summaryof it.
"At thispointthe revelationended.As for me, Daniel,my thoughtswere greatlyalarmingme and my facegrewpale,but I keptthe matterto myself."
I lookedin the vision,and while I was lookingI was in the citadelof Susa,whichis in the provinceof Elam;and I lookedin the visionand I myselfwas besidethe UlaiCanal.
Then I, Daniel,was exhaustedand sickfor days.Then I gotup [again] and carriedon the king'sbusiness;but I was astoundedat the vision,and therewas noneto explain[it].
I heardand my inwardpartstrembled,At the soundmy lipsquivered.Decayentersmy bones,And in my placeI tremble.BecauseI must waitquietlyfor the dayof distress,For the peopleto arise[who] will invadeus.
knowingthat the laying asideof my [earthly] dwellingis imminent,as alsoour LordJesusChristhas made clearto me.
