As for thesefouryouths,Godgavethem knowledgeand intelligencein every[branch of] literatureand wisdom;Danieleven understoodall[kinds of] visionsand dreams.
But ifanyof you lackswisdom,let him askof God,who givesto allgenerouslyand withoutreproach,and it will be givento him.
behold,I have doneaccording to your words.Behold,I have givenyou a wiseand discerningheart,sothat there has beennoone likeyou beforeyou, norshall one likeyou ariseafteryou.
"It is He who changesthe timesand the epochs;He removeskingsand establisheskings;He giveswisdomto wisemenAnd knowledgeto men of understanding.
"But it is a spiritin man,And the breathof the Almightygivesthem understanding.
"To You, O Godof my fathers,I givethanksand praise,For You have givenme wisdomand power;Even nowYou have madeknownto me whatwe requestedof You, For You have madeknownto us the king'smatter."
For thisreasonalso,sincethe daywe heard[of it], we have not ceasedto prayfor you and to askthat you may be filledwith the knowledgeof His willin allspiritualwisdomand understanding,
For the LORDgiveswisdom;From His mouth[come] knowledgeand understanding.
But they were unableto copewith the wisdomand the Spiritwith whichhe was speaking.
Everygoodthing givenand everyperfectgiftis from above,coming downfrom the Fatherof lights,with whomthereis novariationorshiftingshadow.
"Moseswas educatedin allthe learningof the Egyptians,and he was a man of powerin wordsand deeds.
In the thirdyearof Cyruskingof Persiaa messagewas revealedto Daniel,whowas namedBelteshazzar;and the messagewas true and [one of] greatconflict,but he understoodthe messageand had an understandingof the vision.
Behold,you are wiserthanDaniel;There is nosecretthat is a matchfor you.
He continuedto seekGodin the daysof Zechariah,who had understandingthrough the visionof God;and as longas he soughtthe LORD,Godprosperedhim.
He said,"HearnowMy words:Ifthere is a prophetamong you, I, the LORD,shall makeMyself knownto him in a vision.I shall speakwith him in a dream.
and rescuedhim from allhis afflictions,and grantedhim favorand wisdomin the sightof Pharaoh,kingof Egypt,and he madehim governoroverEgyptand allhis household.
In the firstyearof Belshazzarkingof BabylonDanielsawa dreamand visionsin his mind[as he lay] on his bed;thenhe wrotethe dreamdown[and] relatedthe [following] summaryof it.
Thenthe mysterywas revealedto Danielin a nightvision.ThenDanielblessedthe Godof heaven;
for I will giveyou utteranceand wisdomwhichnoneof your opponentswill be ableto resistorrefute.
For his Godinstructsand teacheshim properly.
For to a personwhois goodin His sightHe has givenwisdomand knowledgeand joy,while to the sinnerHe has giventhe taskof gatheringand collectingso that he may giveto onewhois goodin God'ssight.Thistoois vanityand strivingafter wind.
"Giveme nowwisdomand knowledge,that I may goout and comein beforethispeople,for whocan rulethisgreatpeopleof Yours?"
When allIsraelheardof the judgmentwhichthe kinghad handeddown,they fearedthe king,for they sawthat the wisdomof Godwas in him to administerjustice.
In the thirdyearof the reignof Belshazzarthe kinga visionappearedto me, Daniel,subsequentto the one which appearedto me previously.
"Now I have heardaboutyou that a spiritof the godsis in you, and that illumination,insightand extraordinarywisdomhave been foundin you.
wisdomand knowledgehave been grantedto you. And I will giveyou richesand wealthand honor,suchas noneof the kingswhowere beforeyou has possessednorthose who will come afteryou."
youthsin whomwas nodefect,who were good-looking,showingintelligencein every[branch of] wisdom,endowedwith understandingand discerningknowledge,and whohad abilityfor servingin the king'scourt;and [he ordered him] to teachthem the literatureand languageof the Chaldeans.
Then at the endof the dayswhichthe kinghad specifiedfor presentingthem, the commanderof the officialspresentedthem beforeNebuchadnezzar.
As for everymatterof wisdomand understandingabout whichthe kingconsultedthem, he foundthem tentimesbetterthanallthe magicians[and] conjurerswho[were] in allhis realm.
"But as for me, thismysteryhasnot been revealedto me for any wisdomresidingin me morethan[in] any[other] livingman,but for the purposeof makingthe interpretationknownto the king,and that you may understandthe thoughtsof your mind.
"So I gaveordersto bringinto my presenceallthe wisemenof Babylon,that they might makeknownto me the interpretationof the dream.
