But the sonof Paul'ssisterheardof their ambush,and he cameand enteredthe barracksand toldPaul.
Now Jonathanand Ahimaazwere stayingat En-rogel,and a maidservantwould goand tellthem, and they would goand tellKingDavid,for they couldnot be seenenteringthe city.
"He capturesthe wiseby their own shrewdness,And the adviceof the cunningis quicklythwarted.
Thereis nowisdomand nounderstandingAnd nocounselagainstthe LORD.
Do not liein wait,O wickedman,against the dwellingof the righteous;Do not destroyhis restingplace;
Whois therewho speaksand it comesto pass,Unlessthe Lordhas commanded[it]?
But amongthe crowdsomewere shoutingone thing [and] some another,and when he couldnot findout the factsbecauseof the uproar,he orderedhim to be broughtinto the barracks.
As Paulwas aboutto be broughtinto the barracks,he saidto the commander,"MayI saysomethingto you?" And he said,"Do you knowGreek?
And as a greatdissensionwas developing,the commanderwas afraidPaulwould be torn to piecesby them and orderedthe troopsto go downand take him away from them by force,and bringhim into the barracks.
Paulcalledoneof the centurionsto him and said,"Leadthisyoung manto the commander,for he hassomethingto reportto him."
But the next day,leavingthe horsemento goon with him, they returnedto the barracks.
Thenhe gave ordersto the centurionfor him to be kept in custodyand [yet] have[some] freedom,and not to preventanyof his friendsfrom ministeringto him.
For the wisdomof thisworldis foolishnessbeforeGod.For it is written,"[He is] THE ONE WHO CATCHESTHE WISEIN THEIR CRAFTINESS";
