But at my stumblingthey rejoicedand gatheredthemselves together; The smiterswhom I did not knowgatheredtogether againstme, They slanderedme withoutceasing.
Those who sitin the gatetalkabout me, And I [am] the songof the drunkards.
A tranquilheartis lifeto the body,But passionis rottennessto the bones.
O LORD,Your handis liftedup [yet] they do not seeit. They see[Your] zealfor the peopleand are putto shame;Indeed,firewill devourYour enemies.
For he knewthat becauseof envythey had handedHim over.
But when the Jewssawthe crowds,they were filledwith jealousyand [began] contradictingthe things spokenby Paul,and were blaspheming.
But Jewscamefrom Antiochand Iconium,and having won overthe crowds,they stonedPauland draggedhim out of the city,supposinghim to be dead.
But the Jewswho disbelievedstirredup the mindsof the Gentilesand embitteredthem againstthe brethren.
But whenthe Jewsof Thessalonicafoundout that the wordof Godhad been proclaimedby Paulin Bereaalso,they camethere as well,agitatingand stirringup the crowds.
When they did not findthem, they [began] draggingJasonand somebrethrenbeforethe city authorities,shouting,"These menwho have upsetthe worldhave comeherealso;
and Jasonhas welcomedthem, and they allactcontraryto the decreesof Caesar,sayingthat there is anotherking,Jesus."
And when they had receiveda pledgefrom Jasonand the others,they releasedthem.
But while Galliowas proconsulof Achaia,the Jewswith one accordrose up againstPauland broughthim beforethe judgment seat,
"For indeedwe are in dangerof being accusedof a riotin connectionwith today'sevents, since there is no[real] cause[for it], and in thisconnectionwe will be unableto accountfor thisdisorderly gathering."
"The patriarchsbecame jealousof Josephand soldhim into Egypt.[Yet] Godwas with him,
Timothymy fellow workergreetsyou, and [so] [do] Luciusand Jasonand Sosipater,my kinsmen.
for you are stillfleshly.For sincethere is jealousyand strifeamongyou, are you not fleshly,and are you not walkinglikemere men?

Let us not becomeboastful,challengingoneanother,envyingone another.

Ordo you thinkthat the Scripturespeaksto no purpose:"He jealouslydesiresthe SpiritwhichHe has made to dwellin us"?
