Now allhis servantspassedon besidehim, allthe Cherethites,allthe Pelethitesand allthe Gittites,sixhundredmenwhohad comewith him from Gath,passedon beforethe king.
The kingwentout and allthe peoplewith him, and they stoppedat the lasthouse.
Davidsentthe peopleout, one thirdunder the commandof Joab,one thirdunder the commandof Abishaithe sonof Zeruiah,Joab'sbrother,and one thirdunder the commandof Ittaithe Gittite.And the kingsaidto the people,"I myselfwill surelygoout with you also."
Now Joabwas overthe wholearmyof Israel,and Benaiahthe sonof Jehoiadawas overthe Cherethitesand the Pelethites;
So Joab'smenwentout afterhim, along with the Cherethitesand the Pelethitesand allthe mightymen;and they wentout from Jerusalemto pursueShebathe sonof Bichri.
And Davidwas unwillingto movethe arkof the LORDinto the cityof Davidwith him; but Davidtookit asideto the houseof Obed-edomthe Gittite.
Benaiahthe sonof Jehoiadawas over the Cherethitesand the Pelethites;and David'ssonswere chiefministers.
So Zadokthe priest,Nathanthe prophet,Benaiahthe sonof Jehoiada,the Cherethites,and the Pelethiteswentdownand had Solomonrideon KingDavid'smule,and broughthim to Gihon.
and Benaiahthe sonof Jehoiada[was] overthe Cherethitesand the Pelethites,and the sonsof David[were] chiefsat the king'sside.
Then Davidand his men,about sixhundred,aroseand departedfrom Keilah,and they wentwhereverthey could go.When it was toldSaulthat Davidhad escapedfrom Keilah,he gaveup the pursuit.
Davidsaidto his men,"Each[of you] girdon his sword."So eachmangirdedon his sword.And Davidalsogirdedon his sword,and about fourhundredmenwentup behindDavidwhile two hundredstayedwith the baggage.
And Davidlivedwith Achishat Gath,he and his men,eachwith his household,[even] Davidwith his twowives,Ahinoamthe Jezreelitess,and Abigailthe Carmelitess,Nabal'swidow.
Now it was toldSaulthat Davidhad fledto Gath,so he nolongersearchedfor him.
Then it happenedwhen Davidand his mencameto Ziklagon the thirdday,that the Amalekiteshad madea raidon the Negevand on Ziklag,and had overthrownZiklagand burnedit with fire;
"We madea raidon the Negevof the Cherethites,and on that whichbelongs to Judah,and on the Negevof Caleb,and we burnedZiklagwith fire."
So Davidwent,he and the sixhundredmenwhowere with him, and cameto the brookBesor,[where] those leftbehindremained.
