Then the kingof AssyriasentTartanand Rab-sarisand Rabshakehfrom Lachishto KingHezekiahwith a largearmyto Jerusalem.So they wentup and cameto Jerusalem.And when they wentup, they cameand stoodby the conduitof the upperpool,whichis on the highwayof the fuller'sfield.
Then Eliakimthe sonof Hilkiah,and Shebnahand Joah,saidto Rabshakeh,"Speaknowto your servantsin Aramaic,for we understand[it]; and do not speakwith us in Judeanin the hearingof the peoplewhoare on the wall."
Then Rabshakehstoodand criedwith a loudvoicein Judean,saying,"Hearthe wordof the greatking,the kingof Assyria.
There was a greatfaminein Samaria;and behold,they besiegedit, untila donkey'sheadwas soldfor eighty[shekels] of silver,and a fourthof a kabof dove'sdungfor five[shekels] of silver.
They mockand wickedlyspeakof oppression;They speakfrom on high.

The tongueof the infantcleavesTo the roofof its mouthbecause of thirst;The littleonesaskfor bread,[But] noonebreaks[it] for them.
Those who atedelicaciesAre desolatein the streets;Those rearedin purpleEmbraceashpits.
Then the LORDsaid,"Thuswill the sonsof Israeleattheir breaduncleanamong the nationswhereI will banishthem."
Then He saidto me, "See,I will giveyou cow'sdungin placeof humandungoverwhich you will prepareyour bread."
