"Have you not drivenout the priestsof the LORD,the sonsof Aaronand the Levites,and madefor yourselves priestslike the peoplesof [other] lands?Whoevercomesto consecratehimselfwith a youngbulland sevenrams,even he may becomea priestof [what are] nogods.
AfterthiseventJeroboamdid not returnfrom his evilway,but againhe madepriestsof the highplacesfrom among allthe people;any who would,he ordained,to be priestsof the highplaces.
and have casttheir godsinto the fire,for they were not godsbut the workof men'shands,woodand stone.So they have destroyedthem.
of goldfor the [things of] goldand of silverfor the [things of] silver,that is, for allthe workdoneby the craftsmen.Whothen is willingto consecratehimself this dayto the LORD?"
"But as for us, the LORDis our God,and we have not forsakenHim; and the sonsof Aaronare ministeringto the LORDas priests,and the Levitesattend to their work.
Then Hezekiahsaid,"Now[that] you have consecratedyourselvesto the LORD,comenearand bringsacrificesand thankofferingsto the houseof the LORD."And the assemblybroughtsacrificesand thankofferings,and allthose who were willing[brought] burntofferings.
"Now thisis whatyou shall doto them to consecratethem to ministeras prieststo Me: takeoneyoungbulland tworamswithoutblemish,
"The holygarmentsof Aaronshall be for his sonsafterhim, that in them they may be anointedand ordained.
"Thusyou shall doto Aaronand to his sons,according to allthat I have commandedyou; you shall ordainthem through sevendays.
Then Mosessaid,"Dedicateyourselvestodayto the LORD--for everymanhas been against his sonand against his brother--in order that He may bestowa blessingupon you today."
"Has a nationchangedgodsWhen they were not gods?But My peoplehave changedtheir gloryFor that which does not profit.
"Whyshould I pardonyou? Your sonshave forsakenMe And swornby those who are not gods.When I had fedthem to the full,They committedadulteryAnd troopedto the harlot'shouse.
For from Israelis even this!A craftsmanmadeit, so it is not God;Surelythe calfof Samariawill be brokento pieces.
"So the priestwhois anointedand ordainedto serveas priestin his father'splaceshall makeatonement:he shall thus puton the linengarments,the holygarments,
"TakeAaronand his sonswith him, and the garmentsand the anointingoiland the bullof the sinoffering,and the tworamsand the basketof unleavenedbread,
"You seeand hearthat not onlyin Ephesus,but in almostallof Asia,thisPaulhas persuadedand turned awaya considerablenumber of people,sayingthat gods madewith handsare nogods[at all].
Howeverat that time,when you did not knowGod,you were slavesto thosewhich by natureare nogods.
"They sacrificedto demonswho were not God,To godswhom they have not known,New[gods] who camelately,Whom your fathersdid not dread.
