Among theseare Hymenaeusand Alexander,whomI have handed overto Satan,sothat they will be taughtnot to blaspheme.
"Ifhe refusesto listento them, tellit to the church;and ifhe refuses to listenevento the church,let him be to you as a Gentileand a tax collector.
But when the Jewssawthe crowds,they were filledwith jealousyand [began] contradictingthe things spokenby Paul,and were blaspheming.
Some of the crowdconcluded[it was] Alexander,since the Jewshad put him forward;and having motionedwith his hand,Alexanderwas intendingto make a defenseto the assembly.
But when we are judged,we are disciplinedby the Lordsothat we will not be condemnedalongwith the world.
and we are readyto punishalldisobedience,wheneveryour obedienceis complete.
For thisreasonI am writingthese thingswhile absent,sothat when presentI [need] not useseverity,in accordancewith the authoritywhichthe Lordgaveme for buildingup and not for tearing down.
[Yet] do not regardhim as an enemy,but admonishhim as a brother.
for somehave alreadyturned asideto followSatan.
Remind[them] of these things,and solemnly charge[them] in the presenceof Godnot to wrangle about words,which is useless[and leads] to the ruinof the hearers.
and their talkwill spreadlikegangrene.Among them are Hymenaeusand Philetus,
For menwill be lovers of self,lovers of money,boastful,arrogant,revilers,disobedientto parents,ungrateful,unholy,
and you have forgottenthe exhortationwhichis addressedto you as sons,"MY SON,DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLYTHE DISCIPLINEOF THE LORD,NORFAINTWHEN YOU ARE REPROVEDBY HIM;
And the dragon stoodon the sandof the seashore.ThenI sawa beastcomingup out of the sea,havingtenhornsand sevenheads,and on his horns[were] tendiadems,and on his heads[were] blasphemousnames.
Those whomI love,I reproveand discipline;thereforebe zealousand repent.
