Then Solomonsaid,"You have showngreatlovingkindnessto Your servantDavidmy father,accordingas he walkedbeforeYou in truthand righteousnessand uprightnessof hearttowardYou; and You have reservedfor him thisgreatlovingkindness,that You have givenhim a sonto siton his throne,as [it is] thisday.
"He saidto me, 'The LORD,beforewhomI have walked,will sendHis angelwith you to make your journeysuccessful,and you will takea wifefor my sonfrom my relativesand from my father'shouse;
"The LORDhas rewardedme according to my righteousness;According to the cleannessof my handsHe has recompensedme.
"Therefore the LORDhas recompensedme according to my righteousness,According to my cleannessbeforeHis eyes.
"Goand sayto My servantDavid,'Thussaysthe LORD,"Are you the one who should buildMe a houseto dwellin?
"The kinghas alsosaidthus,'Blessedbe the LORD,the Godof Israel,whohas grantedone to siton my thronetodaywhile my own eyessee[it].'"
becauseDaviddidwhatwas rightin the sightof the LORD,and had not turnedasidefrom anythingthat He commandedhim allthe daysof his life,exceptin the caseof Uriahthe Hittite.
sothat the LORDmay carryout His promisewhichHe spokeconcerningme, saying,Ifyour sonsare carefulof their way,to walkbeforeMe in truthwith alltheir heartand with alltheir soul,you shall not lacka manon the throneof Israel.'
"Ifyou walkin My ways,keepingMy statutesand commandments,as your fatherDavidwalked,then I will prolongyour days."
"As for you, ifyou will walkbeforeMe as your fatherDavidwalked,in integrityof heartand uprightness,doingaccording to allthat I have commandedyou [and] will keepMy statutesand My ordinances,
"Remembernow,OLORD,I beseechYou, howI have walkedbeforeYou in truthand with a wholeheartand have donewhatis goodin Your sight."And Hezekiahweptbitterly.
Solomonsaidto God,"You have dealtwith my fatherDavidwith greatlovingkindness,and have mademe kingin his place.
Returnto your rest,O my soul,For the LORDhas dealtbountifullywith you.
Dealbountifullywith Your servant,That I may liveand keepYour word.
I will singto the LORD,BecauseHe has dealtbountifullywith me.
He who walkswith integrity,and worksrighteousness,And speakstruthin his heart.
"Not so,with My servantMoses,He is faithfulin allMy household;
you will be enrichedin everythingfor allliberality,whichthroughus is producingthanksgivingto God.
SoI thoughtit necessaryto urgethe brethrenthat they would go on aheadto you and arrange beforehandyour previously promisedbountifulgift,sothat the samewould be readyas a bountiful giftand not affectedby covetousness.
