Now as Obadiahwas on the way,behold,Elijahmethim, and he recognizedhim and fellon his faceand said,"Is thisyou, Elijahmy master?"
Sarahlaughedto herself,saying,"AfterI have becomeold,shall I havepleasure,my lordbeingoldalso?"
When he liftedup his eyesand looked,behold,threemenwere standingoppositehim; and when he saw[them], he ranfrom the tentdoorto meetthem and bowedhimself to the earth,
So Judahsaid,"Whatcan we sayto my lord?Whatcan we speak?And howcan we justifyourselves? Godhas foundout the iniquityof your servants;behold,we are my lord'sslaves,bothwe and the one in whosepossessionthe cuphas been found."
"We saidto my lord,'We havean oldfatherand a littlechildof [his] oldage.Now his brotheris dead,so he aloneis leftof his mother,and his fatherloveshim.'
"Now,therefore, pleaselet your servantremaininsteadof the lada slaveto my lord,and let the ladgoup with his brothers.
Then his brothersalsocameand felldownbeforehim and said,"Behold,we are your servants."
Then they kept crossingthe fordto bringoverthe king'shousehold,and to dowhatwas goodin his sight.And Shimeithe sonof Gerafelldownbeforethe kingas he was about to crossthe Jordan.
It cameabout at that time,when Jeroboamwentout of Jerusalem,that the prophetAhijahthe Shilonitefoundhim on the road.Now Ahijah had clothedhimself with a newcloak;and bothof them were alonein the field.
So they dividedthe landbetween them to surveyit; Ahabwentonewayby himselfand Obadiahwentanotherwayby himself.
He saidto him, "It is I. Go,sayto your master,'Behold,Elijah[is here].'"
"The sonsof those who afflictedyou will comebowingto you, And allthose who despisedyou will bowthemselves at the solesof your feet;And they will callyou the cityof the LORD,The Zionof the HolyOneof Israel.
Then Aaronsaidto Moses,"Oh,my lord,I begyou, do not account[this] sinto us, in whichwe have actedfoolishlyand in whichwe have sinned.
"But whatdid you goout to see?A mandressedin soft[clothing]? Thosewho wearsoft[clothing] are in kings'palaces!
NowJohnhimselfhada garmentof camel'shairand a leatherbeltaroundhis waist;and his foodwas locustsand wildhoney.
When the ladwas gone,Davidrosefrom the southsideand fellon his faceto the ground,and bowedthreetimes.And they kissedeachotherand wepttogether,but David[wept] the more.
