Allthesewere underthe directionof their fatherto singin the houseof the LORD,with cymbals,harpsand lyres,for the serviceof the houseof God.Asaph,Jeduthunand Heman[were] underthe directionof the king.
Meanwhile, Davidand allthe houseof Israelwere celebratingbeforethe LORDwith allkinds of [instruments made of] firwood,and with lyres,harps,tambourines,castanetsand cymbals.
The kingmadeof the almugtreessupportsfor the houseof the LORDand for the king'shouse,also lyresand harpsfor the singers;suchalmugtreeshave not comein [again] norhave they been seento thisday.
Then Davidspoketo the chiefsof the Levitesto appointtheir relativesthe singers,with instrumentsof music,harps,lyres,loud-soundingcymbals,to raisesoundsof joy.
So the singers,Heman,Asaphand Ethan[were appointed] to soundaloud cymbalsof bronze;
Chenaniah,chiefof the Levites,was [in charge of] the singing;he gaveinstructionin singingbecausehe was skillful.
and 4,000[were] gatekeepers,and 4,000[were] praisingthe LORDwith the instrumentswhichDavid madefor givingpraise.
They cameto Jerusalemwith harps,lyresand trumpetsto the houseof the LORD.
She looked,and behold,the kingwas standingby his pillarat the entrance,and the captainsand the trumpeters[were] besidethe king.And allthe peopleof the landrejoicedand blewtrumpets,the singerswith [their] musicalinstrumentsleadingthe praise.Then Athaliahtoreher clothesand said,"Treason!Treason!"
and from the sonsof Elizaphan,Shimriand Jeiel;and from the sonsof Asaph,Zechariahand Mattaniah;
He then stationedthe Levitesin the houseof the LORDwith cymbals,with harpsand with lyres,according to the commandof Davidand of Gadthe king'sseer,and of Nathanthe prophet;for the commandwas from the LORDthroughHis prophets.
and Mattaniahthe sonof Mica,the sonof Zabdi,the sonof Asaph,who was the leaderin beginningthe thanksgivingat prayer,and Bakbukiah,the secondamonghis brethren;and Abdathe sonof Shammua,the sonof Galal,the sonof Jeduthun.
The headsof the Levites[were] Hashabiah,Sherebiahand Jeshuathe sonof Kadmiel,with their brothersoppositethem, to praise[and] givethanks,as prescribedby Davidthe manof God,divisioncorrespondingto division.
For in the daysof Davidand Asaph,in ancienttimes,[there were] leadersof the singers,songsof praiseand hymnsof thanksgivingto God.
The singerswenton, the musiciansafter[them], In the midstof the maidensbeatingtambourines.
speakingto one anotherin psalmsand hymnsand spiritualsongs,singingand making melodywith your heartto the Lord;
Let the wordof Christrichlydwellwithinyou, with allwisdomteachingand admonishingone anotherwith psalms[and] hymns[and] spiritualsongs,singingwith thankfulnessin your heartsto God.
