So the LORDsenta pestilenceon Israel;70000menof Israelfell.
But he did not numberLeviand Benjaminamongthem, for the king'scommandwas abhorrentto Joab.
Davidsaidto God,"I have sinnedgreatly,in that I have donethisthing.But now,pleasetakeawaythe iniquityof Your servant,for I have doneveryfoolishly."
But the sonsof Israelactedunfaithfullyin regard to the thingsunderthe ban,for Achan,the sonof Carmi,the sonof Zabdi,the sonof Zerah,from the tribeof Judah,tooksomeof the thingsunderthe ban,therefore the angerof the LORDburnedagainst the sonsof Israel.
