Then the Lord became jealous for his land and had pity on his people.


I will continue hostile to you in fury; I in turn will punish you myself sevenfold for your sins.


And in anger and wrath I will execute vengeance on the nations that did not obey.


Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of his possession? He does not retain his anger forever because he delights in showing steadfast love.


So the angel who spoke with me said to me, “Proclaim this message: Thus says the Lord of hosts: I am very zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion,


“Thus says the Lord of hosts: I am zealous for Zion with great zeal, and I am zealous for her with great wrath.
