I alone am the one who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.


I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you.


In those days and at that time, says the Lord, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought, and there shall be none, and the sins of Judah, and none shall be found, for I will pardon the remnant that I have spared.


I will rejoice in doing good to them, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.


Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say: Return, faithless Israel, says the Lord. I will not look on you in anger, for I am merciful, says the Lord; I will not be angry forever.


Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in splendor, doing wonders?


O Lord God of hosts, who is as mighty as you, O Lord? Your faithfulness surrounds you.


But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.


When deeds of iniquity overwhelm us, you forgive our transgressions.


For who in the skies can be compared to the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord,


and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.


The lame I will make the remnant, and those who were cast off, a strong nation, and the Lord will reign over them in Mount Zion now and forevermore.


I will surely gather all of you, O Jacob; I will gather the survivors of Israel; I will set them together like sheep in a fold, like a flock in its pasture; it will resound with people.


Say to them: As I live, says the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked but that the wicked turn from their ways and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?


He said, “O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth beneath, keeping covenant and steadfast love with your servants who walk before you with all their heart,


There is none like God, O Jeshurun, who rides through the heavens to your help, majestic through the clouds.


For judgment will be without mercy to anyone who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.


The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will renew you in his love; he will exult over you with loud singing


Shepherd your people with your staff, the flock that belongs to you, which lives alone in a forest in the midst of a garden land; let them feed in Bashan and Gilead as in the days of old.


He prayed to the Lord and said, “O Lord! Is not this what I said while I was still in my own country? That is why I fled to Tarshish at the beginning, for I knew that you are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love, and relenting from punishment.


Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved, for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the Lord has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the Lord calls.


For I will not continually accuse, nor will I always be angry, for then the spirits would grow faint before me, even the souls that I have made.


For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you.


To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, but we have rebelled against him


will he be angry forever, will he be indignant to the end?” This is how you have spoken, but you have done all the evil that you could.


I will rejoice in Jerusalem and delight in my people; no more shall the sound of weeping be heard in it or the cry of distress.


let the wicked forsake their way and the unrighteous their thoughts; let them return to the Lord, that he may have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.


Come now, let us argue it out, says the Lord: If your sins are like scarlet, will they become like snow? If they are red like crimson, will they become like wool?


But there is forgiveness with you, so that you may be revered.


and your righteousness, O God, reach the high heavens. You who have done great things, O God, who is like you?


they refused to obey and were not mindful of the wonders that you performed among them, but they stiffened their necks and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But you are a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and you did not forsake them.


He said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, my Lord, I pray, let my Lord go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people, pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”


But what is the divine reply to him? “I have kept for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”


But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and has come to life; he was lost and has been found.’ ”


Therefore he shall give them up until the time when she who is in labor has brought forth; then the rest of his kindred shall return to the people of Israel.


He said, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A basket of summer fruit.” Then the Lord said to me, “The end has come upon my people Israel; I will spare them no longer.


And the Lord said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said, “See, I am setting a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel; I will spare them no longer;


No longer shall they teach one another or say to each other, “Know the Lord,” for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord, for I will forgive their iniquity and remember their sin no more.


You grew weary from your many wanderings, but you did not say, “It is no use!” You found your desire rekindled, and so you did not weaken.


To whom, then, will you compare me, or who is my equal? says the Holy One.


To whom, then, will you liken God, or what likeness compare with him?


As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him.


All my bones shall say, “O Lord, who is like you? You deliver the weak from those too strong for them, the weak and needy from those who despoil them.”


He has not beheld misfortune in Jacob, nor has he seen trouble in Israel. The Lord their God is with them, acclaimed as a king among them.


So Ebed-melech left the king’s house and spoke to the king,


For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your builder marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.


If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is lurking at the door; its desire is for you, but you must master it.”


And hear the plea of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray toward this place; may you hear from heaven your dwelling place; hear and forgive.


For as you return to the Lord, your kindred and your children will find compassion with their captors and return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.”


And no inhabitant will say, “I am sick”; the people who live there will be forgiven their iniquity.


Do not be exceedingly angry, O Lord, and do not remember iniquity forever. Now consider, we are all your people.


but let those who boast boast in this, that they understand and know me, that I am the Lord; I act with steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the Lord.


Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he the child in whom I delight? As often as I speak against him, I still remember him. Therefore I am deeply moved for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says the Lord.


I will cleanse them from all the guilt of their sin against me, and I will forgive all the guilt of their sin and rebellion against me.


Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, says the Lord God, and not rather that they should turn from their ways and live?


Take words with you and return to the Lord; say to him, “Take away all guilt; accept that which is good, and we will offer the fruit of our lips.


Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and cast off all pity; he maintained his anger perpetually and kept his wrath forever.


So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord, and he could no longer bear to see Israel suffer.


Happy are those whom you choose and bring near to live in your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, your holy temple.


Surely it was for my welfare that I had great bitterness, but you have held back my life from the pit of destruction, for you have cast all my sins behind your back.


None of the sins that they have committed shall be remembered against them; they have done what is lawful and right; they shall surely live.


I will be like the dew to Israel; he shall blossom like the lily; he shall strike root like the forests of Lebanon.
