Let the creditor lay a snare for all that he has, And let strangers plunder his labour.


Your land is laid waste, your cities are burned with fire, strangers devour your land in your presence. And it is laid waste, as overthrown by strangers.


And the lambs shall feed in their pasture, and strangers shall eat in the waste places of the fat ones.


For a little while Your set-apart people possessed it – our adversaries have trodden down Your set-apart place.


“And you, even of yourself, shall let go of your inheritance which I gave you. And I shall make you serve your enemies in a land which you have not known, for you have kindled a fire in My displeasure which burns forever.”


“And their houses shall be turned over to others, fields and wives together. For I shall stretch out My hand against the inhabitants of the land,” declares יהוה.


And I shall give it for a prey into the hands of strangers, and to the wrong of the earth for a spoil, and they shall profane it.


And I shall bring the evil ones of the nations, and they shall possess their houses. And I shall cause the pride of the strong to cease, and their set-apart places shall be profaned.


“For they sow the wind, and reap the whirlwind. The stalk has no bud, it yields no grain. If it does yield, strangers swallow it up.


“Yisra’ĕl has been swallowed up. They have now become among the nations as a vessel in which is no pleasure.


“And their wealth shall become plunder, and their houses laid waste. And they shall build houses but not inhabit them, and they shall plant vineyards but not drink their wine.”
