And they left their images there, and Dawiḏ and his men took them away.
And he took the calf which they had made, and burned it in the fire, and ground it into powder, and scattered it on the face of the water and made the children of Yisra’ĕl drink it.
“But he does not intend so, nor does his heart think so, for it is in his heart to destroy, and cut off not a few nations.
And he shall not look to the slaughter-places, the work of his hands; and he shall not see that which his own fingers made, nor the Ashĕrim nor the sun-pillars.
And their land is filled with idols; they bow themselves to the work of their own hands, to what their own fingers have made.
The dead do not live; the departed spirits do not rise. Therefore You have visited and destroyed them, and made all their remembrance to perish.
“See, you are of naught, and your work a breath; he who chooses you is an abomination.
“See, all of them are useless, their works are naught, their moulded images are wind and confusion.

“And I shall pronounce My judgments against them concerning all their evil, because they have forsaken Me, burned incense to other mighty ones, and bowed themselves to the works of their own hands.
Say to them this, “The elah that did not make the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.”
Would a man make mighty ones for himself, which are not mighty ones?
“Has a nation changed its mighty ones, which are not mighty ones? But My people have changed My esteem for that which does not profit.
and also their mighty ones, with their princes and their precious utensils of silver and gold he shall seize and bring to Mitsrayim. And he shall stand more years than the sovereign of the North.
“And you have lifted yourself up against the Master of the heavens. And they brought before you the vessels of His house, and you and your great men, your wives and your concubines, have been drinking wine from them. And you have praised the elahin of silver, and of gold, of bronze, of iron, of wood, and of stone, which neither see nor hear nor know. “For from Yisra’ĕl is even this: a workman made it, and it is not Elohim! For the calf of Shomeron is splinters!
But then, indeed, not knowing Elohim, you served those which by nature are not mighty ones.
