I beat them fine as the dust of the earth; I crushed them and stamped them down like the mire of the streets.


“Then the earth reeled and rocked; the foundations of the heavens trembled and quaked, because he was angry.


He said, “Throw her down.” So they threw her down. And some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses, and they trampled on her.


I beat them fine as dust before the wind; I cast them out like the mire of the streets.


Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.


The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.


Through you we push down our foes; through your name we tread down those who rise up against us.


Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one, in your splendor and majesty!


Against a godless nation I send him, and against the people of my wrath I command him, to take spoil and seize plunder, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.


For the hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain, and Moab shall be trampled down in his place, as straw is trampled down in a dunghill.


Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the Lord!


You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all.


I stirred up one from the north, and he has come, from the rising of the sun, and he shall call upon my name; he shall trample on rulers as on mortar, as the potter treads clay.


Be broken, you peoples, and be shattered; give ear, all you far countries; strap on your armor and be shattered; strap on your armor and be shattered.

Then my enemy will see, and shame will cover her who said to me, “Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will look upon her; now she will be trampled down like the mire of the streets.


and to overthrow the throne of kingdoms. I am about to destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations, and overthrow the chariots and their riders. And the horses and their riders shall go down, every one by the sword of his brother.


On that day, declares the Lord, I will strike every horse with panic, and its rider with madness. But for the sake of the house of Judah I will keep my eyes open, when I strike every horse of the peoples with blindness.


On that day the Lord will protect the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them on that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the angel of the Lord, going before them.


And on that day a great panic from the Lord shall fall on them, so that each will seize the hand of another, and the hand of the one will be raised against the hand of the other.


Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle.


For I have bent Judah as my bow; I have made Ephraim its arrow. I will stir up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece, and wield you like a warrior’s sword.


teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”


And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.”


And he said to them, “What things?” And they said to him, “Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, a man who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people,


Now a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an eloquent man, competent in the Scriptures.


And Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was mighty in his words and deeds.


For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.


“When you go out to war against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and an army larger than your own, you shall not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.


But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth.


I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.


There has been no day like it before or since, when the Lord heeded the voice of a man, for the Lord fought for Israel.


And Joshua captured all these kings and their land at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.


Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and with a loud voice he called to all the birds that fly directly overhead, “Come, gather for the great supper of God,


One of the young men answered, “Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a man of good presence, and the Lord is with him.”
