I shall beat them as small as the dust of the earth: I shall crush them and spread them abroad like the mire of the streets.


The earth shook and trembled, the foundations of the mountains were moved, and shaken: because he was angry with them.


And he said to them: Throw her down headlong. And they threw her down. And the wall was sprinkled with her blood: and the hoofs of the horses trod upon her.


For thou shalt give him to be a blessing for ever and ever: thou shalt make him joyful in gladness with thy countenance.


The eyes of the Lord are upon the just: and his ears unto their prayers.


With thy comeliness and thy beauty set out, proceed prosperously, and reign. Because of truth and meekness and justice: and thy right hand shall conduct thee wonderfully.


Therefore we will not fear, when the earth shall be troubled; and the mountains shall be removed into the heart of the sea.


I will send him to a deceitful nation: and I will give him a charge against the people of my wrath, to take away the spoils, and to lay hold on the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.


For the hand of the Lord shall rest in this mountain: and Moab shall be trodden down under him, as straw is broken in pieces with the wain.


WOE to them that go down to Egypt for help, trusting in horses, and putting their confidence in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong: and have not trusted in the Holy One of Israel, and have not sought after the Lord.


Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find the men that resist thee. They shall be as nothing: and as a thing consumed the men that war against thee.


I have raised up one from the north: and he shall come from the rising of the sun. He shall call upon my name: and he shall make princes to be as dirt, and as the potter treading clay.


Gather yourselves together, O ye people: and be overcome, and give ear, all ye lands afar off. Strengthen yourselves, end be overcome, gird yourselves, and be overcome.


And then shalt come out of thy place from the northern parts, thou and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company and a mighty army.


And he that holdeth the bow shall not stand, and the swift of foot shall not escape, neither shall the rider of the horse save his life.


And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many peoples as a lion among the beasts of the forests, and as a young lion among the docks of sheep: who when he shall go through and tread down, and take, there is none to deliver.


And my enemy shall behold, and she shall be covered with shame, who saith to me: Where is the Lord thy God? My eyes shall look down upon her: now shall she be trodden under foot as the mire of the streets.


Speak to Zorobabel the governor of Juda, saying: I will move both heaven and earth.


In that day, saith the Lord, I will strike every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open my eyes upon the house of Juda, and will strike every horse of the nations with blindness.


In that day shall the Lord protect the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and he that hath offended among them in that day shall be as David: and the house of David, as that of God, as an angel of the Lord in their sight.


In that day there shall be a great tumult from the Lord among them: and a man shall take the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall be clasped upon his neighbour's hand.


Then the Lord shall go forth, and shall fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.


Because I have bent Juda for me as a bow, I have filled Ephraim: and I will raise up thy sons, O Sion, above thy sons, O Greece, and I will make thee as the sword of the mighty.


Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.


And the tempter coming said to him: If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.


To whom he said: What things? And they said: Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet, mighty in work and word before God and all the people;


Now a certain Jew, named Apollo, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, came to Ephesus, one mighty in the scriptures.


And Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians; and he was mighty in his words and in his deeds.


For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty to God unto the pulling down of fortifications, destroying counsels,


If thou go out to war against thy enemies, and see horsemen and chariots, and the numbers of the enemy's army greater than thine, thou shalt not fear them: because the Lord thy God is with thee, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt.


But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that by me the preaching may be accomplished, and that all the Gentiles may hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.


I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.


There was not before nor after so long a day, the Lord obeying the voice of a man, and fighting for Israel.


And all their kings, and their lands he took and wasted at one onset: for the Lord the God of Israel fought for him.


And I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that did fly through the midst of heaven: Come, gather yourselves together to the great supper of God:


And one of the servants answering, said: Behold, I have seen a son of Isai the Bethlehemite, a skilful player, and one of great strength, and a man fit for war, and prudent in his words, and a comely person. And the Lord is with him.
