Blessed be the Lord the God of our fathers, who hath put this in the king's heart, to glorify the house of the Lord, which is in Jerusalem,


And I came to Jerusalem, and was there three days.


And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, and before the dragon fountain, and to the dung gate: and I viewed the wall of Jerusalem which was broken down, and the gates thereof which were consumed with fire.


A cautious man concealeth knowledge: and the heart of fools publisheth folly.


A time to rend, and a time to sew. A time to keep silence, and a time to speak.


But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: I will give my law in their bowels and I will write it in their heart: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.


And I will make an everlasting covenant with them and will not cease to do them good: and I will give my fear in their heart, that they may not revolt from me.


Therefore the prudent shall keep silence at that time, for it is an evil time.


Believe not a friend, and trust not in a prince: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that sleepeth in thy bosom.


Behold I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents and simple as doves.


Who arose, and took the child and his mother by night, and retired into Egypt: and he was there until the death of Herod:


And thanks be to God, who hath given the same carefulness for you in the heart of Titus.


So Josue going up from Galgal all the night came upon them suddenly.


For God hath given into their hearts to do that which pleaseth him: that they give their kingdom to the beast, till the words of God be fulfilled.


Then Gedeon, taking ten men of his servants, did as the Lord had commanded him. But fearing his father's house, and the men of that city, he would not do it by day, but did all by night.


Arise therefore in the night with the people that is with thee and he hid in the field.
