For as Jonas was in the whale's belly three days and three nights: so shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.


Which when Jesus had heard, he retired from thence by boat, into a desert place apart, and the multitudes having heard of it, followed him on foot out of the cities.


And the disciples say unto him: Whence then should we have so many loaves in the desert, as to fill so great a multitude?


And Jesus having compassion on them, touched their eyes. And immediately they saw, and followed him.


Saying: Sir, we have remembered, that that seducer said, while he was yet alive: After three days I will rise again.


And seeing the multitudes, he had compassion on them: because they were distressed, and lying like sheep that have no shepherd.


And Jesus saith to him: If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.


Whom when the Lord had seen, being moved with mercy towards her, he said to her: Weep not.


And when it began to be light, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying: This day is the fourteenth day that you have waited, and continued fasting, taking nothing.


For we have not a high priest, who can not have compassion on our infirmities: but one tempted in all things like as we are, without sin.
