And the Lord God shall strike Israel as a reed is shaken in the water. And he shall root up Israel out of this good land, which he gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river: because they have made to themselves groves, to provoke the Lord.


There are two things that have happened to thee. Who shall be sorry for thee? Desolation and destruction and the famine and the sword: Who shall comfort thee?


When they fast, I will not hear their prayers: and if they offer holocausts and victims, I will not receive them: for I will consume them by the sword and by famine and by the pestilence.


And if they shall say unto thee: Whither shall we go forth? Thou shalt say to them: Thus saith the Lord: Such as are for death, to death: and such as are for the sword, to the sword: and such as are for famine, to famine: and such as are for captivity, to captivity.


They shall die by the death of grievous illnesses: they shall not be lamented and they shall not be buried: they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed with the sword and with famine: and their carcasses shall be meat for the fowls of the air and for the beasts of the earth.


And I will defeat the counsel of Juda and of Jerusalem in this place: and I will destroy them with the sword in the sight of their enemies and by the hands of them that seek their lives: and I will give their carcasses to be meat for the fowls of the air and for the beasts of the earth.


He that shall abide in this city shall die by the sword and by the famine and by the pestilence: but he that shall go out and flee over to the Chaldeans, that besiege you, shall live, and his life shall be to him as a spoil.


But the nation and kingdom that will not serve Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, and whosoever will not bend his neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon: I will visit upon that nation with the sword, and with famine and with pestilence, saith the Lord: till I consume them by his hand.


Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will send upon them the sword, and the famine, and the pestilence: and I will make them like bad figs that cannot be eaten, because they are very bad.


And I will persecute them with the sword and with famine and with the pestilence: and I will give them up unto affliction to all the kingdoms of the earth: to be a curse and an astonishment and a hissing and a reproach to all the nations to which I have driven them out:


Behold, works are built up against the city to take it: and the city is given into the hands of the Chaldeans, who fight against it, by the sword, and the famine, and the pestilence. And what thou hast spoken is all come to pass, as thou thyself seest.


And sayest thou to me, O Lord God: Buy a field for money and take witnesses, whereas the city is given into the hands of the Chaldeans?


Therefore thus saith the Lord: You have not hearkened to me in proclaiming liberty every man to his brother and every man to his friend: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence and to the famine: and I will cause you to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth.


And all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to dwell there shall die by the sword and by famine and by pestilence: none of them shall remain nor escape from the face of the evil that I will bring upon them.


Now therefore know certainly that you shall die by the sword and by famine and by pestilence, in the place to which you desire to go to dwell there.


They have denied the Lord and said: It is not he and the evil shall not come upon us. We shall not see the sword and famine.


Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Behold, I will feed this people with wormwood and give them water of gall to drink.


And I will scatter them among the nations which they and their fathers have not known: and I will send the sword after them till they be consumed.


Say thou thus to them: Thus saith the Lord God: As I live, they that dwell in the ruinous places, shall fall by the sword: and he that is in the field, shall be given to the beasts to be devoured: and they that are in holds, and caves, shall die of the pestilence.


Thus saith the Lord God: Strike with thy hand and stamp with thy foot and say: Alas, for all the abominations of the evils of the house of Israel: for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.


The sword without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die by the sword: and they that are in the city shall be devoured by the pestilence and the famine.


May the Lord set the pestilence upon thee: until he consume thee out of the land, which thou shalt go in to possess.


And behold a pale horse, and he that sat upon him, his name was Death, and hell followed him. And power was given to him over the four parts of the earth, to kill with sword, with famine, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
